Allow "Run as UAC Admin" from shortcut/commandline

Post by eyeb » Sat Nov 13, 2010 10:39 pm

Hi, I'm having problems with software compatibility. On the laptop it won't allow me to scrolldown pages from touchpad. I've narrowed it down to if I run program as UAC admin then the touchpad allows me to scroll.

I know this is counter to the "security" feature but is it possible to allow us to add a switch to shortcuts allowing this? like "start.exe /UACAdmin program.exe"? Or if this is already in place?

I'm not sure if this would be a software incompatibility or not but I don't mind less security to be able to scroll since sandbox is deleted after program closes. Plus nothing else can start so it's still fairly safe

Thanks

I'm sorry that the documentation for Start.exe is lacking.
What you want is available as the command line option /elevate .

Oh ok thanks! I looked through the faq for this and didn't see it. I just thought it wasn't included for "security" reasons lol.

"edit" hm is it possible to do this without the blackbox or popup window asking to continue from showing? I've disabled uac but they still show.

I'm asking since I'm trying to get browser to work without "noticing" the sandboxie so I can just work without interferenece while enjoying the security

I'm not sure I understand. The black window should appear and immediately disappear if UAC is either disables or set to automatically elevate anything.

If you still need to interact with UAC then you would still need to do that, even if the black window did not appear. So removing the black window is not the issue here.

Did I understand you correctly and do you understand what I mean?
