Shell integrations 2

Post by Rob » Wed Sep 10, 2008 5:20 am

First I want to excuse me for my english, is not my language... :)

great program!! and I'm thinking to upgrade to the full version... (i'm waiting an italian version...;) )

here's my idea for a little bit useful feature... at the moment I don't know if it is possible

I imagine to run, I mean, 10 or more programs each one in his own sandbox so there will probably be 10 or more voices for targets in the "Send To" action, plus the other ones.... (system and other programs)

I think it should be a nice feature the possibility to create a sub folder like this and put there

Send To: sandboxie \ sandboxie1
sandboxie2
sandboxie3
sandboxieN

tnx, ciao.

Yes, a good request, I support it.

I'm not sure if I understand the request, but you can already choose "Send To" > Sandboxie and then choose which sandbox you want to use.
I can choose either DefaultBox, EmailBox, or TestBox, and so on.

Code: Select all

Send To > Sandboxie > DefaultBox
                      EmailBox
                      TestBox
If I right-click a text file, and then Send To > Sandboxie > DefaultBox, then Notepad will run because it is set as the default program to open text files on my computer. Notepad will run sandboxed, using DefaultBox, and open the file.
I could just as easily use Send To > Sandboxie > TestBox and open the file using that sandbox.

With the registered version of Sandboxie you can use this to run programs in as many sandboxes as you have.
With the unregistered version of Sandboxie, only one sandbox can be used at a time.
I hope I have correctly understood what you were suggesting, because this is already available.

My "Send to" menu looks like this (not changed by me, thats the structure Sandboxie creates)

Code: Select all

Send to > Bluetooth
          Sandboxie - myBox1
          Sandboxie - myBox2
          Sandboxie - myBox3
          Sandboxie - myBox4
          Notepad++
But we would like to see this

Code: Select all

Send to > Bluetooth
          Sandboxie > myBox1
                      myBox2
                      myBox3
                      myBox4
          Notepad++

On Windows XP the Send To is as Guest10 described.

Code: Select all

Send To > Sandboxie > DefaultBox
                      EmailBox
                      TestBox
When I added support for Windows Vista, I observed a hierarchial structure in Send To is no longer possible, so I had to go with a flat layout, as in:

Code: Select all

Send To > Sandboxie - DefaultBox
          Sandboxie - EmailBox
          Sandboixe - TestBox
I did not check if Vista SP 1 fixes the limitation that prevents hierarchial Send To menus.
