win10 (1511) x32, snb5.07.1, ff42, norton security.

Today firefox stopped running completely.
This is probably due to the updating norton.

Norton does cause conflicts w/ FF and Opera. You can try the tip listed here: http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?Know ... cts#Norton Antivirus Products

Should that not work, Norton should be removed to resolve this issue.

I'm sorry but I will not remove norton as most users will use even when all browsers to stop working sandboxie.
Is not another solution?

Other than the what is listed there. No. Remember, SBIE isolates and protects your online for anything. If you Sandbox does become infected, you simply empty that sandbox as your host will not be affected.

Sandboxie as primary...then if you do want to use a A/V product, use one that is compatible. http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 1&t=21539c

We simply recommend Windows Essentials / Defender.

f10mpk, Windows defender/MSE has not conflicted with Sandboxie for about six years. Thats a good reason to recommend WD. I know stories that bad mouth MSE/WD abound in the internet but that's the AV that I install in friends who are using SBIE, even when they have a license for a paid AV, and the combo has worked well. They don't have problems or infections and are able to use SBIE without headaches.

Thank you for the advice but unfortunately not going to move to another anti-virus product. Norton quickly and efficiently perform its tasks.
Windows Essentials / Defender
Most low-quality anti-virus, according to the tests on the Internet.

I think that users will not remove existing anti-virus software for the use of the sandbox. Sanboxie simply cease to be popular.

Honestly , if you browse sandboxed, a antivirus solution really isn't needed unless you want that feel good option. And again, that's what we recommend. If you're isolated, how is that virus going to break thru?
You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree cease to be popular. It's the other way around. Sandboxing is the truly only safe way. Good luck

Here where I live, most people get a free one year license for a paid antivirus when they purchase a new computer. At least 3 times, when I have installed Sandboxie for a friend, I also installed MSE or left WD in place, instead of installing and using the paid one. I truly believe MSE is a lot better than is given credit for by the tests and at the same time, I know antiviruses that score 98 or 99 per cent in those tests are not that good. If they really were that good, programs like Sandboxie that are designed to take care of zero day threats would not exist. And in forums like Nortons, we would hardly ever see anyone reporting getting infected (this is something that we never see here, think about why that is).

By the way, I haven't used an AV since Dec 2010, and I cant get infected even if I try. And I am a dummy user. The one smart thing that I constantly do regarding computers is that when a file or program runs in my computers, it always runs sandboxed. Thats all I do and it works. :)

I always say, the luckiest thing that ever happened to me regarding the internet, is discovering Sandboxie. And the smartest decision that I ever taken related to the internet is choosing to use SBIE. And when I was looking for something that could handle malware without signatures, I also found many products that claimed they protected against a million or two million viruses. Later, I realized that products like SBIE or MBAM which only protected against a couple hundred thousand pieces of malware are actually better than most of this AVs that claimed to protect against millions or the ones that according to AV tests score 99 percent.

I am using Sandboxie 5.07 with Windows 10 but I can't get Firefox to open quickly when it is the default browser.

I removed the program and deleted the local folder then reinstall it. It works fine under Sandboxie at first, but when I make it the default browser it takes at least 10 minutes to load. And when I switch the default browser to Chrome I still have the problem with Firefox loading slowly. Chrome always loads quickly no matter what.

But Firefox under Sandboxie works fine for Windows 8.

Do you know what is going on?

What happens when you FF "as sandboxed" (by right clicking on in and selecting run as sandboxed) or running it sandboxed by right clicking on the SBIE icon in your notification area and selecting FF?

What extensions or add-ons do you have installed? (if any)

How fast does FF load when not SB in Win10?

Windows 10 1511 (Build 10586), Sandboxie 5.07.1, Firefox 42

Everything is working fine for me (no crashes etc.), but there are two things in Firefox that are bothering me: first, the freezes (they already started with Sandboxie 5.03 on Windows 10). Every 20 seconds or so, the browser freezes for about one second, that's quite annoying and only happens when it runs sandboxed. The second thing are missing tab labels (see attachment, this started with Sandboxie 5.05.3). If Firefox has focus, all tab labels (except the active tab's one) are invisible, if Firefox doesn't have focus, all tab labels are visible. All these things have not ever happened with Thunderbird.

When I freshly install Firefox, Sandboxie runs fine. Once I make it the default browser though it takes 10 minutes to load. Even if I then switch the default browser to Chrome and then run FF sandboxed it's still lags for 10 minutes. It's only when FF is freshly installed that it works fine when I run it as sandboxed.
What extensions or add-ons do you have installed? (if any)
-Adblock Plus (enabled)
-Avast Online Security (disabled)
-Avast Safe Price (disabled)

How fast does FF load when not SB in Win10?
Less than 3 seconds.

And you have deleted the contents of your SB?

Have you created a new, fresh SB and tested to see if that improves it?
