Can't Start Sandboxie Service

Post by Guest » Sat Jul 14, 2007 5:08 pm

The sandboxie service has been set to automatic startup but it won't start when Windows boot up. Manually starting it gives the following error:

The Sandboxie Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service.

I checked the event log and found something that may be helpful:

SBIE1122 Error: [C000022D]

SBIE9156 Driver initialization not completed

SBIE1121 Hook failed for service NtUserMessageCall

SBIE1153 Sandboxie initialization failed. Close all programs and then re-install Sandboxie OR restart your computer.

I tried reinstalling with no success. Reinstalling or uninstalling will give a blue screen, but I forgotten to note down the error message. I have 'System Safety Monitor' installed but I have already set it to allow everything to run. Not sure what is the problem? :?

It only occurs after I have upgraded to version 3 from the previous version.

SSM may be the cause of your problems.

See:

Follow the link in my last post there for a detailed explanation.

SBIE1122 Error: [C000022D]

Means the system was too busy for too long (during initialization), and Sandboxie just gave up initializing.

Do you have a lot of software loading at system start up?

MikeH: Yes, I got the same blue screen error as you. I guess SSM is the culprit. I have reverted back to sandboxie 2.86 and all the problems gone.

tzuk: Yes, I have a lot of programs loading at startup.

I increased the timeout from 90 seconds to 120 seconds, I don't know if that would make a difference, but if you're curious, you can re-download version 3 (from the same link) and give it a try.
