Sandboxie 4.01 vs. Comodo Sandbox?

Post by ad18888 » Sat Jan 19, 2013 1:42 pm

I was wondering what the difference between the Sandboxie 4.01 BETA sandbox and the Comodo Internet Security 6 sandbox was? Is one of them more secure? I like both products and have both installed.I have heard that between 10-15% of malware can escape Sandboxie. Is this true? I don't think so but I am just checking. Just one more question. Do I need to click the drop administrative rights in the settings? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Hi ad, malware dont escape the sandbox, you heard wrong. My personal experience using SBIE is proof that SBIE works great against malware. I am a dummy user, not a computer guy, dont use any real time antiviruses and don't get infected. Learning the basics about security and using Sandboxie properly is what keeps me clean. Sandboxie works.

Using Drop Rights keeps programs/malware running in a sandbox from doing administrator actions in the sandbox. So, yes, use the feature but remember to disable it whenever you want to install a program in a sandbox. Programs dont install sandboxed when Drop Rights is enabled.

Thanks for the help. I did not think that malware could escape from Sandboxie. I was just checking. It is good to know that there is a way to stay safe.
