changing my profile

I have two questions about the protocols for using these forums. First, when I come to this particular forum to make a new post, I have to enter my Username in the field for each topic. So, why does it not get that information automatically since I had to log in with my username to make postings of any sort as it is. Secondly, In order to enter my profile administration dialogue, I am required to enter my username and password. So, if I am making a change to my email address, why does it ask for these two items again?

These two steps seem inefficient at the very least. What am I missing? Thanks.

And yet you talk about your "profile".

If you register with the forum and your browser saves the forum cookie after your first log in, then you shouldn't have to enter either your username or your password when you come here - as long as you don't log out and choose to log in automatically.
If you do log out, then your browser can probably be set to remember your password and auto-fill the log in boxes -so, all you would need is the forum cookie and click on Log In.

Maybe your cookie isn't being saved?
