I just updated Vivaldi portable x64 on Windows 10 and since that update it doesn't work no more in Sandboxie.
I wonder what the Programmers changed in Vivaldi, you can see the starting processes in Sandboxie and then it silently dies.
Unable to launch Vivaldi portable 1.11.917.39 (x86)

Re: 5.21 Beta Available
Hello ITSecMedia,
I am able to run Vivaldi x64 portable on Windows 10 x64 CU and SBIE 5.21.2
Did you delete the contents of your Sandbox after the update?
What is the exact version of Vivaldi that you are using?
Does the issue follow you to a new sandbox? Do you have any AV software installed?
Regards,
Barb.-

Re: 5.21 Beta Available
Hi Barb, thanks for your help.
Vivaldi 1.11.917.39 (Stable channel) (32-bit) / Installed as Portable installation on Drive C:
Sandboxie 5.21.2 (64-bit)
I wipe my sandbox every time the applications are closed.
I use that configuration since the first version of Vivaldi and it worked all the time, till today.
I'm able to run the latest version of Chrome in the sandbox without a problem.
When I start Vivaldi I see more and more threads / processes counting up in Sandboxie until it suddenly stops and all threads are shutdown.

Re: 5.21 Beta Available
Hello ITSecMedia,
I tested the 32 bits version and I was able to launch it without any issues.
Do you have a download link for Vivaldi so that I can be sure I am testing the exact same file?
What else is running on your computer? Any security software?
Have you tried a new Sandbox with default settings?
Does vivaldi work outside Sandboxie?
Regards,
Barb.-

Re: 5.21 Beta Available
Hi Barb, this is the most interesting bug I've seen since a longer time.
When I boot my box and it just started completly fresh, I'm able to start Vivaldi in my CLEAN sandbox as it was working the last year ( flawlessly ).
When I close Vivaldi now and the sandbox gets auto-deleted as usual and I start Vivaldi a few seconds again ( same environment ) it shows the bug behavior that it kills itself after a few secondes like shown in the animated gif.
So I can run it every time I boot my box ( once ) and then not anymore ... and the sandbox gets deleted every time the apps are closed.
I have absolutley no idea whats going on here.
That envoronment was running all the time without any problems, until I updated to the latest Vivaldi.
Sorry that I bother you with this issue.
When you say it works on your machine, it must be something on my box, but I don't know where to search.

Re: Unable to launch Vivaldi portable 1.11.917.39 (x86)
Hello ITSecMedia,
I have moved your posts to a new topic as they are not Beta related.
I re-tested Vivaldi Portable x86 by relaunching it several times (deleting contents in-between) and did not experience any issues.
Do you have any security software installed?
Can you make sure it works fine outside the Sandbox, and also to delete its cache?
After that, re-try launching it Sandboxed.
Does the issue occur in a new sandbox with default settings?
If the issue persists in a new Sandbox with default settings, please paste the output of your Resource Access Monitor. Use the "</>" button in the forum response to format it.
