Hello sphinx8911,

I have tested inside VMs with a generic VMware graphics card, as well with an Intel video card (host).
The issue seems to be related to security levels or multiprocess. (I am still unable to reproduce it after having upgraded from 56 to 57).

Did you try changing the values for sanbox security, and if needed, for multiprocess (e10s) ?

The devs are aware of the issue, I will post an update once it becomes available.

Regards,
Barb.-

Dropping security level to 2 in about:config resolves the crash. I didn't need to modify multiprocess settings. I hope a solution becomes available so we can run at the highest settings. Thanks a lot.

I was mistaken. Sorry, I wasn't sandboxed when it was working.

Re: Multi-process windows enabled, sound working, no gah tab crashes (so far - over 20 tabs loaded very fast)

Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit,
Sandboxie 5.22,
Firefox 57 (Quantum),
Microsoft Security Essentials Antimalware Client Version: 4.10.209.0
Engine Version: 1.1.14306.0
Antivirus definition: 1.257.459.0
Antispyware definition: 1.257.459.0
Network Inspection System Engine Version: 2.1.14202.0
Network Inspection System Definition Version: 118.1.0.0

This may help some people
I currently have the following settings and FF 57 (Quantum) is working fine, with Youtube sound on and multi-processing enabled
Settings in about:config
security.sandbox.content level 2 (source: posts in this thread)
browser.tabs.remote.autostart true (source: posts in this thread)
browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 false (source: posts in this thread)
accessibility.loadedInLastSession false (source: based on this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/re ... -utilities)
Must restart browser after changes made

Firefox 57 x64
Sandboxie 5.22 x64
Windows 8.1 x64

There's definitely something going on here. I upgraded to 57 yesterday and every once in a while a random tab will crash. Whether it's a conflict with Sandboxie or not I don't know. When a tab crashes all tabs crash and restarting the individual tab or all tabs does nothing. The only way to get it working is restart firefox.

All,

Until we have a fix for this issue, please follow these steps to get Firefox 57 working with Sandboxie:

See if this helps
Adjust the settings using the non-sandboxed Firefox 57 in about:config to the following:
security.sandbox.content level 2
browser.tabs.remote.autostart true
browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 false
accessibility.loadedInLastSession false

You can check in about:support to see if multi-process windows is enabled
You may have to delete the contents of some sandboxes if you experience the tab crashes

Hi howiem,

I changed the following only: Security.sandbox.content level 2

And it worked

I later changed that also and did some other performance tweaks, but didn't test them to see what does what. Quantum is working quite well now.

Any update on a fix? It's been a couple of months without a fix. I don't want to drop my security level to 2. I'm using Chrome for now, but really dislike it.

Hello wekebu,

We are still unable to reproduce this issue, so a fix will take sometime. I have seen this happen in Windows 10 Fast Ring, but not on the stable released versions (so far). The devs are aware and we are still investigating.

Please provide this info:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=19746

We will update this thread if anything new comes up.

Here goes:
Windows 10 Home, Ver 1709, OS Build 16299.125
64-bit
Sandboxie: 5.22 (64-bit)
Firefox: 57.0.2 (64-bit)
Windows Defender: scanned 4 days ago, updated today.
I use a wacom tablet, and have dual screens. Older Dell desktop (2011 era, Intel Core i5-2310 CPU @ 2.90GHz, 6GB ram
I've ran with extensions disabled, still crashes when using Sandboxie.
Chrome runs with Sandboxie.

I can provide anything more you need, but I'm not a very sophisticated user, so be very specific about what you need.
Thanks for helping.
