Rivatuner with Sandboxie

Post by Tyrone1337 » Thu Aug 11, 2016 12:10 pm

Hello,

I tried out MSI Afterburner (with rivatuner installed) which monitors temperatures & usage and the problem is that I cannot use the on-screen display in games that I run sandboxed. Is there a fix for this?

I doubt this would work. If the program needs a driver or service to be installed in the SB, this is not possible.
Games are not tested with SBIE.
Games of any sort should be installed on your host machine and then "run as sandboxed" if you choose.

...You can run resource access monitor in SBIE control to see what possibly that program resource is looking for, and then you can open a hole in the sandbox to allow it. But honestly, why do you need to sandbox that OR the game?

The game wasn't installed with SBIE. I'm using it is so I could use two seperate steam accounts without needing to switch between both.

Suppose this won't work?

Code: Select all

SBIE2103 Denied attempt to load system driver 'rtcore64 [Steam]'
SBIE2103 Denied attempt to load system driver 'rtcore64 [Steam]'
All I need is a 30 fps lock on a certain game with the ability to monitor. Adaptive vsync set to half refresh rate doesn't make it lock either.

SBIE is stopping a driver from loading. That's the purpose of SBIE & what it's designed to do.. More about that here http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?SBIE2103

And as for Steam, YMMV. Steam detects SBIE as a cheat program, we don't routinely test Steam with SBIE.. and SBIE isn't a good application for such a use because it involves a driver.

never really used afterburner for monitoring, but i've used it to record video of a game inside a box.

only way i could get it to work was to open 1 instance of afterburner outside the sandbox, and another inside it.
