Unable to scan Sandboxed USB folders with Avira [SOLVED]
Newbie here. Hi everyone! I have set up a separate sandbox to include all USB drives that could be attached using the force folder selection. My question is how to allow Avira (free) to scan the drives/folders within the sandbox? I've ran the scanner and each time it fails. Sandboxie asked if I wanted to include the file "scanui.exe" to a list and i allowed it but still am unable to scan. I've tried to make sense of this and have poked around the forums but have yet to find an answer that relates. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not too comfortable poking around inside the settings with risk of exposing my system to something. I have a drive i know is infected and need to salvage what I can off of it. Please help! Thanks again!

Hello bwwright75,
Force Folders allows you to automatically Sandbox any program/file that you run from a specific folder. You can safely manipulate those files inside the Sandbox to see what they do, and what they are, etc...
To scan the files, you can use Windows Explorer (not-sandboxed), then right-click on the file (s)/folders--> Scan with... (Might want to do this from Computer ---> Right click on the USB drive that you want to scan ).
If you accidentally open the files instead, they will open Sandboxed , thus they will not be able to affect your host.
Regards,
Barb.-
