5.04 will not install

Post by Red.Dwarf » Mon Sep 28, 2015 10:09 am

I cannot get v5.04 to install, it begins extraction and gets as far as LICENSE.TXT stops there for some time and then says that "Cannot create or update sandboxie program files"

This happened after downloading and attempting to install after closing all sandboxed programs. Rebooting did not fix it. I have shut down sandboxie which made no difference. I have checked the SHA-1 on the download, downloaded the x64 and checked the SHA-1 of that too with no success.

I do have a valid paid for license and have not had any problems before now.

Is this a common problem?
Windows 7 x64 SP1
Intel Core i7-3770K stock speed
Asus P8Z77-V Premium with 2x8GB Crucial + 2x4GB 1600MHz Samsung Green memory
5 Hard drives 250,250,500,500,1000 & Asus/Intel SSD Caching of system drive

Run Process Explorer or something that shows open files. Search for open files containing the string "sandbox" in the path.

Its not a common problem but I know of one other user who experiences something similar to what you describe. When he runs a new version installer over the top, like you, he gets as far as LICENSE.TXT. Try figuring out the cause of the issue by following Curts advice. The guy with the similar issue is able to upgrade SBIE by uninstalling existing version, (and config file also), reboot, then installing new version.
