Can't install Winzip 11.1 in Sandboxie 3.00.04

Hallo,

as I already mentioned in the subject I have a Problem with installing Winzip. I can install ist, but when it comes to the first run the following error message appears:

I am using german Windows XP with SP2.
If I try to install the englisch version of Winzip, this message appears:

I used an empty Sandbox for testing. How can I solve this problem and using Winzip in a Sandbox.

Looks like it is complaining that your Windows Installer is too old. Try using Windows Update to get a newer version of Windows Installer. This is just a guess though.

I don't think it is Windows Installer. I tried to install Winzip in Sandboxie within a Virtual Machine. Installation failed, too. If I tried to install Winzip in the VM without Sandboxie, it worked and Winzip could be executed.

Yep just tried it and got the same exact error. When installing the program, it'll go fine, but once it is finished, if you leave the "Launch Winzip" box checked, and then hit finish, then it gives that error, and yes im using the latest windows installer.

I get it now ... I read that WinZip 11 is the first version to come in a new MSI installer.
This must be what they mean by "the MSI version of the installation" and has nothing
to do with the version of Windows Installer itself.

And yeah, I got the problem too, and I'll have to check it.

Fixed in version 3.00.05. To upgrade, re-download and re-install Sandboxie from the regular download page.

The program asks what directory is it running from, sees the full path including the sandbox location, for example c:\sandbox\sandbox\defaultbox\drive\c\program files\winzip, and gets confused. But when Sandboxie corrects that path back to c:\program files\winzip, all is well.

This helps more than just WinZip. To name another, RoboForm also had a problem installing, and with this fix, it now installs fine.
