Cant install Chrome 54.0.2840.59 in SBIE Windows7 64[SOLVED]

Post by JohnBox » Wed Jan 11, 2017 1:03 pm

Hallo SBIE Support

I cannot install Chrome 54.0.2840.59 32-bit that I got from here https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/b ... andalone=1 into SBIE on Win 7 64 SP1.
It finished the install fine, then Chrome shows a black window in the viewport.

I am not sure if the current version is correct, I got that from https://www.whatismybrowser.com/guides/ ... ion/chrome since I cannot find the version of Chrome in the install file properties.

Any ideas?

In case anyone reads this thread, the info Barb is pointing to is this bit and installing Chrome 55 into SBIE works with this bit.

Sbie Ctrl --> View Files and folders, navigate to your Sandboxed Chrome installation
Right click on Chrome --> Create Desktop Shortcut
Go to your Desktop and right-click properties on the newly created Shortcut
Update the target to reflect the following: " --no-sandbox " at the end (no quotation marks)
This should be added after the quotation marks in the Target area, leaving 1 space
Update "Start in" section to reflect the actual installation path (for example C:\Sandbox\User\SboxName\drive\C\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application)
Thank you Barb.
