Good news : i have downloaded Media Player Classic and the sandboxed installation was succesful !
Bo, when i have tried to install Java and JCCal, i did exactly the same things as you recommended me : create a new sandbox .. leave default settings in place ( No restrictions, No Drop Rights ).

Craig :
I know the programs are not forced because they do not appear in sandboxie Control and secondly because i cannot see the yellow border ( i’m using « in this windows sandboxed » option in sandboxie Control to verify ).
You are right : it seems that sandboxie behaved as if i were not a paid user ( so FORCING is not working even if my template states that those programs are forced ).
But Sandboxie is registered and the licence is activated :

Hi Jean, I asked the question because I never assume nothing. I saw the 2008 next to your name but I felt in order to try helping you, I had to ask.Jean Michel wrote:Bo, in answer to your question « do you know how to run programs you install in a sandbox ? » : i’m using sandboxie since many years and i have installed several hundred programs sandboxed without problem ! But it was an old sandboxie version ( 3.01 ) and i recently decided to use the last sandboxie when my old laptop died ..
I see you got a 1603 error with Java and a Folder is inaccessible error for the calendar program, read this link from Microsoft about the 1603 error. Maybe you need to grant permissions to the account, check the link.

To me the issue is using the best tool for the job. While you might hammer a nail with a screwdriver handle, a hammer works much more efficiently. I use sandboxie strictly as a security tool. I don't install anything in them. I install software to the desktop and run stuff sandboxed.
If I want a quick test of software, I use Macrium Reflect Home(paid version) and with that I can very quickly take an image, and with equal speed restore and get rid of anything just installed. If I want to install something that has been on my system a while, I use Revo Unintaller Pro, and it does a pretty good job of cleaning up.
