I'm trying different things, as time permits.Craig@Invincea wrote:Working fine for me...as it did in testing. This test is not a VM, Win 10 64 FR 14342Guest10 wrote:Trouble w/5.11.8:
Tested w/64-bit Cyberfox and 64-bit Chrome on 64-bit Windows 10.
Cyberfox browser window is blank.
Chrome's window doesn't even open.
Both work fine unsandboxed.
Reverted to 5.11.7: OK
Then tried 5.11.8 again - same result.
Cyberdox 64 46.0.3
SBIE 5.11.8
I have a 64-bit Win 10 notebook PC where the latest version of Cyberfox works with 5.11.8, so I'm trying to isolate what is causing the problem on my desktop PC.

It works fine on Win 10, 32/64 Standard builds and FR14342 builds.
5.11.8 is working fine with Chrome 50+, beta, 32 and 64 bit. As well as Firefox, Cyberfox, Vivaldi and many many others. [as you can see from my posts above, and in testing before we release a beta.]
Are you running Security products? IF so, what?
Did you delete the contents of your sandbox?
As for the complaint about posts having to be moderated, it stops SPAM. We get a lot. I don't want the board to be full of SPAM. That's why. And it's been like that long before Invincea...and It's only for a few posts, but again it isn't micro management, it's protecting us and the users from SPAM
The other option is no forum and a ticketing system, which I'm sure no one wants.

Re: 5.11 Beta Available (latest version 5.11.8)
As for Firefox. Delete the contents of your Sandbox
Start FF w/o extensions and addons
Start FF in safe mode as a test
Disable/remove other security programs.
As you can see, no issues. Just like the dozens of times in testing last week.
This is FF 46.0.1, x64, currently has no addons / extensions (which is how we test, but I do use LP) on Win 10 FR build 14342.
SBIE 5.11.8, same as in testing before the release, tested on 32/64...Cyberfox as well.
Slimjet is not tested, as it's not one we test. There are tons of browsers, we stick w/ the big 3... IE, FF, Chrome..but we test Opera, Cyberfox, Vivaldi and some others.
So you have options.
I created a thread several months ago about FF45+ x64, and no one could provide me with clear evidence of an issue. Usually, more often than not, it was an extension, add on and/or 3rd party security product or failure to delete the contents of their sandbox before running it. http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 11&t=22643

Re: 5.11 Beta Available (latest version 5.11.8)
5.11.8 does not work with Thinkpad Windows 10 x64 Pro Chrome Version 50.0.2661.102 m. When starting it is always asking me to set the default browser as Chrome, which it is when opening without SB. When I go to Settings in Chrome, the browser freezes and I have to kill to kill the application.
Same problems on my wife's Thinkpad with same Chrome.

Re: 5.11 Beta Available (latest version 5.11.8)
Edge is not supported. This is noted in various places, and on our website for a year. http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?Know ... ts#Windows 10 and you're notified when you install SBIE that its not supported and to review the known conflicts page. However, if you leave Edge as your default Windows browser and you click run browser sandboxed icon, SBIE will open IE instead.
*Remove problematic 3rd party security products
* and FF browser addons/extensions.
Then use FF. I'm certain it will work. This is why we have a list of known issues with 3rd party security products. Simply disabling some is not enough sometimes.
You can run Resource Access monitor and/or Procmon to get us a log, as we're not seeing it with the above criteria.
You can do a ProcMon that will show us if there is a problem:
Get procmon here (free) https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sys ... 96645.aspx
Steps
Close any programs that are not needed.
Run Procom (not sandboxed)
and then try and fire up FireFox (or the browser causing issues) (sandboxed of course).
Run your process to show that shows the issue you are receiving
stop capturing events in Procmon (under file)
then Save the results (under file, make sure "save all events it ticked") and
save in PML format.
These files can be large, so post somewhere we can download and look (link)
OR (Please zip them!) and send to Support@sandboxie.com
Zeema Security products may cause issues, this is noted in this sticky here http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 11&t=21539 as well as other security products. Windows Defender is known to be ok.Are you running Security products? IF so, what?
As follow:
> Windows Defender

Again, works just fine in all tests (no security products and very limited addons, extension...as we normally test only the CORE browser).> My question is why 5.11.7 version and lower versions of Sandboxie version work.

Re: 5.11 Beta Available (latest version 5.11.8)
Technical support is not guaranteed nor offered. It's been that way from day 1. It's noted on the website. My thoughts below:
> Strange that you did not remote assistance!!!
This is why we have a forum. Issues are addressed as needed, time & resources... especially if it affects a large number of users (such as Oct 2015 MS patch Tuesday....) And, if we can replicate the issue, using the advice we give every day...core browser, 3rd party security, etc
"...But does not entitle you to any guaranteed level of technical support..."
http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?HomeUse
SBIE has been around for 13+ years w/ 4 million users. We cannot recreate millions of real world environments. But given the fact we use SBIE tech all day here, in testing (automated testing thousands upon thousands of tests, ) and actual users test...plus, with our millions of users gives us plenty of feedback. 1 or 2 people having an issue is not a problem, statisitcally, that's going to happen, with EVERY product, IT wise, an automobile, a chainsaw, etc...hundreds is a problem (like patch Tue of Oct 2015)Answer my question, please? A test is NOT The REAL World! Within control environment.
A random Youtube video is FAR FAR FAR from a real world test. Can you verify the authenticity or not? No. Our Devs can, and have addressed legitimate issues in the past. We know what works and usually what doesn't. This is why we specific instructions & ask you to try X first then Y to rule out common issues.
Things like this have long since been patched. This is from 2014. Please look at the forums, change logs, etc. Nothing is 100%. Please don't expect that. Again, the track record for SBIE in the past 13 years is stellar.
This is also why we have a STICKY security thread for urgent announcements. This has not been used, for obvious reasons. http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 11&t=21656
There is a STICKY in the forum, I expect some users to use the forum as a research and actually try and look around. Or search. But here is the sticky, again, WE CANNOT TEST every run of the mill security product. That simply is not possible.I quess every security software is problematic and 3rd party security? It NOT list and/or give a link?
Website HERE Known Conficts here: http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?KnownConflicts
Forum Stickey HERE http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 11&t=21539
Search box, please try it out. That's why it's there.

@Moose, the Procmon link got truncated in my post.... https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sys ... nitor.aspx
However, a simple search for Procmon would have given you many posts in the forum...Along with steps needed to use it..
