Videos won't play after the latest Flash update [SOLVED]
Hello,
since I've updated Adobe's Flash to v23.0.0.162, Firefox won't play videos on some websites anymore. Youtube still works. Some others don't. My OS is Windows 7 64-bit, Firefox is 32-bit.
I didn't try it outside of the sandbox and I won't - I'm never running Flash outside of the Sandboxie again. If you can (VW), please try.
Has anyone else noticed the same problem? What would be the solution, to install older Flash?

Re: Videos won't play after the latest Flash update
OK, I take that back - it was Firefox v49 that was the problem, not the latest version of Flash. I Just downgraded Firefox to v48.0.2 and videos work again.
Don't know what caused this but I'm staying on v48. Here is v49 changelog:

Do you get a plugin-container crash? Please watch this thread:Bellzemos wrote:it was Firefox v49 that was the problem, not the latest version of Flash. I Just downgraded Firefox to v48.0.2 and videos work again.

Re: Videos won't play after the latest Flash update
Hi Bellzemos. I can watch videos as usual but I think the stability of Firefox has steadily dropped over the last year or so, more so since version 48 came out in early August. For testing, try running Firefox in a New default settings sandbox and post the link of a video you cant watch so we can try it in W7. If you are using an script or adblocker, then perhaps you need to allow something you are blocking. So, test the new default settings sandbox and or also test using a new Firefox profile.Bellzemos wrote: since I've updated Adobe's Flash to v23.0.0.162, Firefox won't play videos on some websites anymore. @ asdasdasd - No, I don't think it's the plugin container crashing, it doesn't say anything like that.
@ bo.elam - Hi, Bo! It's all the same with a new DefaultBox. FF v48.X works and FF v49.X doesn't (in terms of playing videos). I am using AdBlock Plus but it's all the same if it's enabled or disabled.
Thank you.

Re: Videos won't play after the latest Flash update
Did you ever manage to find a fix for Flash videos not working with Firefox 49 using Sandboxie? Just ran into this problem tonight.
Thanks.

Re: Videos won't play after the latest Flash update
Not really. What I did is revert back to Firefox v48.0.2 and now videos play again. So I'm staying on the latest Flash, latest Sandboxie but old version of Firefox.

Re: Videos won't play after the latest Flash update
@Invincea/Sandboxie team - you fixed this issue completely with your latesat version of Sandboxie - v5.16. It took a while but you did it.
I guess this is it: "Added OpenWinClass=SWFlash_PlaceHolderX to fix Flash failure to start on some videos." - can this "OpenWinClass" be a security risk? (Probably not?)
Anyway, I had problems on Win7 x64 and Win10 x64 bofore, both using Flash and Firefox and now it works in 7 and 10, with the latest FF.
