Delete or rename a sandbox (not just the contents)
Delete or rename a sandbox (not just the contents)
I can't find a menu option or command line instruction to delete or rename a sandbox. (I could delete the contents but not the box itself.) So I have to assume that it just doesn't exist. Could this be implemented in the menu?

Actually its already implemented into the GUI, it's just slightly hidden, to delete a sandbox, switch to the sandbox you'd like to delete, then open up Sandboxie Control, then at the top click "Configuration -> Sandbox Settings -> Remove Sandbox..." and the sandbox will be gone. As for renaming the sandbox, there is no GUI wise way to do it (as with deleting a sandbox) but it is still achievable, just open Sandboxie Control then click "Configuration -> Edit Configuration" now in the new window that opens (which should be your ini) you'll see the ini divided into categorys like [GlobalSettings], [DefaultBox], etc.. well look for the name of the sandbox you'd like to rename surrounded in "[]" symbols (like for example [DefaultBox]) and just change the name to whatever you'd like (for example [TestBox]), then you should be done.
rename doesn't work
Thanks! Delete seemed like such a basic feature I wondered why it wasn't included already. It ought to be written in the manual though.
As for the rename, changing the name in the ini file doesn't seem to work. It just creates a new sandbox with the new name and leaves the old the folder behind!
Now I'm not sure how to delete the old folder safely. Can I just dump the contents of the old folder into the new one? Can I safely dump the old folder into the recycle bin? Or does that leave stuff behind in the registry or something?

Yes to the first two. The only time you can't just delete the directory is if the sandbox is currently in use. The registry it does use is written to a file in the directory.Cybox wrote:Now I'm not sure how to delete the old folder safely. Can I just dump the contents of the old folder into the new one? okay then
Okay, that makes it easy. I was worried there might be a partition in the registry for each sandbox or something. If everything is just in that sandbox folder then I could just terminate all processes, rename the folder AND the heading in the ini file. Right?
It would still be nice if you could do this from the gui, but doing it manually doesn't sound that hard.
