Is your https (secure) connection being sniffed?

Came across this article today which discusses problems with https and links you to grc.com where you can test to see if your https connections are secure or if there is a "man in the middle". This is the first I have read about this:

http://blogs.computerworld.com/cybercri ... ing?page=0

I was using Opera 15 at the time and did the grc.com fingerprint test: OPERA FAILED. So I fired up Firefox 24 portable, and that passed. Which leads me to believe that Opera browser is routing https traffic across its servers. Bye bye Opera.

Also, follow the links in the article for more informative reading.

Hope all you security conscious people like myself find this helpful!

MAN-IN-THE-BROWSER attacks is the same approach as MAN-IN-THE-MIDDLE attacks but in this case a Trojan Horse is used to intercept and manipulate calls between the main application’s executable (ex: the browser) and its security mechanisms or libraries on-the-fly.(owasp.org)

HitmanPro.Alert is a free tool that mitigates Man-in-the-Browser attacks by informing you when a known or unknown Trojan infiltrated your browser. Keep your money and personal data safe during online banking, shopping, social networking, blogging, gaming and more.
