same as with my win7 64 bit installation.. only that sandboxie worked on win7.
Yes, your additional data will help.Dun wrote:There was a thread somewhere about sound issues on =<5.06. Dunno if that helps devs but I have no issues with sound using Potplayer x64 and AIMP3 (even WASAPI mode works).
I would remove the A/V programs first, not just disabling parts and see if that works. Are these programs being INSTALLED in the SB or just "run as?"xy667 wrote:Hi All
I know Sandboxie is still in beta for Windows 10 but I can't run anything in a sandbox that I have tried so far. I am running Windows 10 Education N (fresh install) and Sandboxie 5.0.1.8. When I try to run or install something in a sandbox I get this error every time:
SBIE2224 Sandboxed program has crashed: SandboxieDcomLaunch.exe
In the above example I was trying to run TreeSizeFree but if I try Firefox 40.0.2 I get the same error. Same goes for Notepad++. I have tried an uninstall and reinstall of Sandboxie but this didn't help. Windows 10 is fully patched as of today. I was using the default sandbox when testing.
Is there anything I can try? I do run BitDefender Free AV and as part of the testing I turned off Auto Scan and the Virus Shield but it didn't help. I also run Malwarebytes Anti-malware but disabling the real-time protection didn't help either.
I thought I could get *some* of my apps to run in Sandboxie on Windows 10 with the beta but so far haven't had any luck...

eg: Are Known Issues with Firefox: only Windows 10 or all Windows
If content under Known Issues with Windows 10 apply only to Windows 10. Please note. (The known issues relate directly to SBIE and Win10)
Fixes in 5.01.1
1) Windows 10 support
Known Issues with Windows 10
Windows 10 (64/32) support for build 10240
Supporting the latest versions of IE, Firefox, Chrome (32/64). (all work (minus Edge) at this time up to FF v40.0.2)
IMVU will crash. (not supported as of yet..we are aware of it...and gaming too)
Metro apps (including Edge) are not supported. (Nope. No ETA if it will be as this isn't a trivial matter I'm told.)
Known issue with Firefox:
crashes randomly: work around - go to about:config and set viewmanager.do_doublebuffering to false. (this is a knwn issue along w/ System wide font issues...being looked. Only affects Win10
IE may have an issue with certain ads that cause to the page to restore/reload -- an error page will show if the restores happen frequently. (Have't had reports of this, Edge..yes we have.
Chrome works well - no issues so far
Good thinking! I uninstalled Bitdefender Free AV and I am now able to run Firefox and Notepad++. Treesize Free doesn't run but I was just trying it for the sake of it.Craig@Invincea wrote: I would remove the A/V programs first, not just disabling parts and see if that works. So how do I get Sandboxie to run with Bitdefender Free AV on Windows 10?
When I have been testing I have been running Firefox and Notepad++ in a Sandbox (so it is locally installed on the host already).
I did notice another issue, I tried to install Tox in the Sandbox and it installed ok but when I ran it the menus didn't display correctly:
This image shows how it looks on Win10 (top) and 8.1 (bottom).
Nothing at this time. Some A/V programs simply will not work. There is a limited number listed here that do. http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... us#p112088
Anything I can do for Tox and to get Sandboxie to work with Bitdefender Free AV?
Thanks!!
