A lot of changes are in the beta to support Win 10. The font issue in related to SBIE Beta v5 has been fixed in earlier releases (.9 I believe.) . If you're not using Win 10, then 4.20 is the best to use..as it's the stable version. v5 is still beta for the short term. There is a ton of things that have to be changed to support the changes that Win 10 have introduced.
tf2 font is incorrect in the latest beta. id like to use windows 10 soon once microsoft fixes some of their horrible choices like only white windows title bar color etc, but sandboxie must be working properly for me to even consider & its not. everything thats broken in windows 7 is broken in windows 10 too in the exact same way.

sitting on 4.20 forever on windows 7 isnt a viable option long term either

When I run Skype (installed) in a Sandbox with sandboxie 5.01.12 on Windows 10 I get:
SBIE2204 Cannot start sandboxed service DcomLaunch (-4)
Is there a way around this? Funny thing is, if I just click ok it runs fine but Skype doesn't autostart when Windows starts up and I login.

I'm running Avira for my AV.

Is this a bug with the beta or is there something I can do to fix this?

Either the program shows "no printer installed" in its print dialog, or it crashes straight away when
trying to invoke the print dialog. Sometimes, it does works as expected (i.e. printing IS possible)....

I have observed the same behavior from within Firefox, Thunderbird and PDF-XChange Editor.
This makes me think that Sandboxie is the culprit, not the individual programs

My config:
Windows 10 x64, Sandboxie 5.01.12 beta, Kyocera FS-C5350DN & PDF Creator printers installed

Any ideas/workarounds? Any (more or less) hidden bugs/quirks/issues still present in the printing code ?
Anyone else having printig trouble ?

Thanks,
Spaceman Spiff
Sorry for bumping this issue, but I'm still having constant trouble (frequent crashes or "no printer installed")
when printing from a Sandbox in Windows 10. Anyone else   ?

Thanks,

In the latest version the process does not auto-terminate anymore after start but process seems hanging and the app shows no window. :(
Confirmed with beta 5.01.7 both Firefox 39.0.3 and IE11 (W7 64 bits), with http://www.chess.com/play/computer the java-app says Loading.
Java JRE 8u60 now works with www.chess.com (W10 build 10240 64 bits/Sandboxie beta 5.01.12).

The problem with JAVA related issues is that not all sites use (or can use) any particular JRE. Some will use 8u60, other 7..etc. This is usually where the issues come in. But in testing, JRE 8/60 is working.

@Yuno.. I'll cut and paste a response from another thread here...I tested TF2 this morning.
-------------
Early this morning, I tested my old gaming machine (Win 7/64 AMD quad w/ high end graphics) with Steam and SBIE v5.01.12. The machine hadn't had a windows update in almost 2 years. It's low on HDD space and cluttered.I updated windows. I then installed Steam. I let Steam update. I then installed the Beta.

I ran Steam "in a Sandbox" and logged in. I could see my old library of games. I went and downloaded TF2. I let it download and installed along w/ DirectX.

After it was complete. I clicked play, fully expecting for it to not load or just load quickly and disappear like the reports we are seeing.

it loaded perfectly. Full sound. Full graphics. I had ZERO issues. I then downloaded and tried Bioshock. Same. Flawless.

Now, in testing @ work. TF2 wouldn't cooperate. It wouldn't work. I'm thinking that's more of the testing being inside a VM. However, other games have worked in testing.

I captured a screen movie and sent it to Curt this morning for review to show that in fact, gaming...at least for Steam and this particular game is working.

He concluded this isn't anything inherently in the v5 code to stop games from loading.

Soooo, With that, all we can say at this time, we need specific steps you may do that caused a game not to load. Are you running A/V? Error codes? Did it try to load? Logs? Dump files? SBIE Resource monitor logs? etc.etc.

I've reported this issue with this game before but here is the resource monitor information in case it helps with the randomly closing games issue. Guild Wars 2, loads up fine at first and then after an undefined amount of time randomly closes without any error or indication.

Logs? Dump files? SBIE Resource monitor logs? etc.etc.
ive been repeating myself so many times over the last few pages, saying what sbie settings are used, what happens, what my hardware is..is there anything ELSE that i never mentioned, that u want? antivirus is avg & disabling does nothing.

leave windows 10 out of it for a bit, im on 7, but the same things happen with 10 anyway. oh i dont have 3d vision installed at all as its useless for me. from the quote of another user u provided, he just said "amd quad high end graphics" so im going to assume the integrated amd graphics, but im on nvidia/intel hd & theres no amd in this house for me to test on. theres another user on the previous page i think that still cant get tf2 to even start..

where do i retrieve dump files if theres any?

Is there a way around this? Funny thing is, if I just click ok it runs fine but Skype doesn't autostart when Windows starts up and I login.

I'm running Avira for my AV.

Is this a bug with the beta or is there something I can do to fix this?
Anyone? I'm finding that this also happens when I sign out of Skype. I also sometimes get the Sandboxie error that Skype has crashed. If I click through all the errors Skype does start. I'm also finding that Skype does not auto login (despite having the option set) and I'm guessing this is due to Skype crashing each time I start/stop it?

Hi, my first post!

I'm using the beta version and running windows 10. I've a FHD screen in which I've recently adjusted my text scaling size to 125% from 100%. Now the dialogue to choose sandbox when I right click a file > Run sandboxed is a little blurry because of the increased text scaling.

I do not wish to reduce my text scaling back to 100% nor would I want to disable text dpi scaling for sandboxie as both outcomes would make the text small again.

Thus, could you fix this little issue which I have too when the final version is released?

Thank you so much!

The Steam client works, but not all games on Steam behave the same, and not all games on Steam can be tested. Some will work, some may not.
i already found that, that post was a while back before i bothered to install the beta again & check..tiny improvement at best i have my post about it a page or 2 back, tf2's font is wrong.

custom status launching any custom program like wmp or notpad still dont work, 4.20 still remains near flawless with everything thrown at it
When you say "custom status launching", are you talking about "Add a non-steam game to my library" and running those exe's from inside there? If so, I've tried adding WMP, Wordpad, several others -- they all work fine. Every Steam demo game works flawlessly. This is under Win 7-32, Sbie 5.01.12.

We know of nothing that worked under 4.20 that is broken under 5.01.12. If anyone has any information to the contrary, they need to post detailed steps on how to reproduce the problem.

My collection of Steam games is pretty small but since the audio device issue was fixed (i'm actually still on 5.01.10 atm) I haven't encountered any new issues running them on Windows 7 x64...they now work like they did before. :-/ eg game(s) [my only one happens to be a fairly new addition (to my library) called Left for Dead 2 which I run off a gaming partition and no sandboxie] that needs the service (for anti-cheat reasons) and doesn't work sandboxed but the rest do - same as 4.x no random crashes or anything odd.... it might very well be something specific to your system but like he said, it's not an easily reproducible event without more specifics. I'm not seeing it on my end so something must be missing?

Re: 5.01 Beta Available (latest version 5.01.12)

Post by Chr1s » Tue Sep 01, 2015 7:08 am

Hello,

I am using 5.01.03 without problems except for the fonts not displaying right in some applications (e.g. banking4w).
If I upgrade to 5.01.11 or 5.01.12 I can't start any program at all in the sandbox.
If I try to start a program by using the sandboxie built in start menu or just try to start the explorer in the sandbox the following error occurs: "SBIE2224 Sandboxed program has crashed: SandboxieDcomLaunch.exe"
The same happens with any other application I try to run. It doesn't make a change if it is installed outside or inside the sandbox.

Im on Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit with the latest patches.
Did even a clean uninstall and reinstall of sandboxie including a reboot after uninstall.
Virus scanner is Bitdefender free, a deactivation doesn't solve the issue.
I always used the combined installer.

Thanks in advance,
Chr1s
