[.02] Sanboxie & IE10 & Avast

Post by AMD » Wed Nov 14, 2012 12:59 pm

Hi, just installed IE10 on Windows 7 SP1 and I get the following every time I launch IE10 through the Sandboxie shortcut Icon. I have reinstalled Sandboxie 3.74 but still get the same message.

SBIE1151 Cannot handle instruction FEB8753E: D9,89,54,24,40,4C,89,44,24,48,83,64
SBIE2303 Could not hook ChangeServiceConfig2W (2)
SBIE2318 DLL initialization failed for 'sechost.dll'
SBIE1151 Cannot handle instruction 7790F87E: 3E,FF,FF,FF,48,83,C4,38,C3,90,90,90
SBIE2303 Could not hook SetWindowsHookExW (2)
SBIE2318 DLL initialization failed for 'user32.dll'

Any help would be appreciated

Andy

Is this the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7? Perhaps a related topic here:

Hi, its the 64 bit. Before I installed ie10, I had both 32 and 64 bit on ie9 pre-installed on my pc and both worked fine.

This is still only a Release Preview, correct? I installed the Release Preview on 64-bit Windows 7 and I don't see this problem.

This might be caused by a conflict with another program. Please post a Resource Access Monitor log to see a list of DLL files that are loaded into your sandbox when you start IE 10.

Are you sure it's the same issue with the same error message? I am asking because the specific error message described in the first post here was linked to avast in another topic:

http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=14070

However your resource log does not include any mention of avast, so I want to make sure exactly which error it is.

1) I did not receive an error message; just IE10 would open, but pages would not load, then "Not Responding".

2) I was not using most current version of Sandboxie; when I upgraded to v3.74 the problem went away.

3) On first opening of IE10 in Sandbox I did have to take suggestion from Sandboxie Control to "double-click here to increase cache size" -- (or something like that).

So for me at least, IE10 (preview) is now working in sandbox, on 64bit Win7.

Same kind of problem

Post by knuffel_u » Tue Dec 04, 2012 12:10 pm

Hi.
i am running the last free version 3.74 of sandboxie (trail wants to see if works fine and want to buy it ) 64 bits on a win 7 ultimate sp1 64 bits dutch language machine. My machine has all updates there are. my virus scanner is the Microsoft MSE. ie10 version = 10.0.9200.16438 with update version pre-release KB2718695
i updated to ie10 because ie9 Always let my machine crash with a blue screen. has to do with nvidia...
since i update to the ie10, every program that runs within sandboxie and wants to make use of ie10 will start ie10, but ie10 wont show a page. telling me everytime it can not connect. out the sandbox ie just runs smooth n perfect.

i do not get any error messages of sandboxie. before ie9 and even chrome work fine and connect to internet showing pages.

i did run the resource monitor.

Help Please !!

Your log mentions the program \program files (x86)\camfrog\camfrog video chat\crashsender.exe.
Going just by this program name, I suggest that CamFrog might be the component that crashes.

Let's try to disable CamFrog in the sandbox to see if it makes a difference.
Please open Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > File Access > Blocked Access,
click the Edit/Add button, then paste this:
*\camfrog\*

Click OK all the way back and restart IE in the sandbox.

The incompatibility with avast should be fixed in version 4.01.02.

Did you try version 4.01.02 to see if it fixes your problem?

Yes, its OK with the latest Beta version, but if I use that version, I cannot get explorer.exe to run but explorer.exe runs ok in version 3.76

OK, but this means there is nothing further to investigate about this problem.

Either use version 4.01.02 which fixes the problem properly, or use the workaround for version 3.76 proposed in another topic:
http://www.sandboxie.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=14070

As for Windows Explorer issue, I will post in the topic for it.

Wait to see on explorer - thanks

With regard to Avast, I did what you said and added *\avast\*snx* to blocked access files and this works as a temp measure - thanks once again.
