Immediate recovery problem firefox

My System:

Firefox 41.0.2 (32bit)
SRWare Iron 45.0.2400.0 (32bit)
Palemoon 25.7.3
Sandboxie 5.05.2 (64bit)
Windows 8.1 (64bit)

I have sandboxie configured to immediately recover to my download directory after downloading has finished. This works well until I try to download the same file again.
In firefox the Immediate recovery window does not appear after downloading the same file again. In Iron the Immediate recovery works every time after downloading the same file and asks if I want to overwrite the existing file.
After several attempts to download the same file in Firefox the SbieSVC.exe crashes and I have to reboot windows. In Palemoon the same thing happens as in firefox after the first recovery there is no additional recovery window when downloading the same file.
The Immediate recovery problem almost always happens when I download .zip files.

Is there something wrong at my end or can someone repeat the same behavior?

Do you have any download manager installed? Have you tried to disable all your Firefox extensions and plugins? Will it occur in any zip links? Could you provide a download link for the zip file? How about using IE? Try also to create a new sandbox with copy settings set to none.

Thanks rpljhun for your reply. I don't have a download manager installed. Even when I start Firefox with all add-ons disabled the problem keeps coming up. I also tried to create a new sandbox and with firefox in safe mode with all add-ons disables and that does not solve the problem.
As I wrote in my previous post the Immediate recovery window works fine in the Iron browser(this is a fork of chrome). It seems to be firefox specific even with the palemoon browser (this is a fork of firefox) the problem comes up.
The problen mainly occurs with downloading zip files. I can give you a download link but it doesn't matter where the download is coming from as long as it's a zip file.
For example:
- goto => http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/
- download => Windows Executable: exiftool-10.02.zip (3.8 MB)
- After download has complete the Immediate recovery window comes up. Let sandboxie recover the file to your download directory
- Download the same file again (Windows Executable: exiftool-10.02.zip)
- After download has complete the Immediate recovery window does not come up.

If I keep trying to download then after about 1 minute the sbiesrv.exe crashes. If I close firefox before crashing the sbiesrv.exe then the Immediate recovery window comes up asking to recover the downloaded files.

Sorry, but I can't duplicate your problem on Win 8.1. The Immediate Recovery window opens for both downloads, and I have in my Downloads folder:

Initially I thought It had something to do with the file naming but I soon discovered the all zip files create this problem. I tried cyberfox portable 64 bit and also this browser shows the same problem.
To be clear ones more, for the first download of the zip file everything works as expected. After the download has complete the Immediate recovery window comes up and the file is recovered to my download directory.
The trouble begins when I download the same file again and save the file with exactly the same file name. Firefox asks if I want to overwrite the file. I choose oke and after completing the download the Immediate recovery window is not appearing for that download. If I explore the contents of my sandboxie download folder then the downloaded file is there. When I close firefox then the Immediate recovery windows suddenly appears to recover the downloaded files.
So the problem I am getting appears when I want to overwrite a previous downloaded .zip file not by renaming the file.

You might think why this is such a problem for me. The real problem happens when I repeatedly download files. After repeatedly downloading, firefox or sbiesrv.exe will crash and I have to reboot to get sandboxie going again.

That seems to be where the difference lies. I'm not asked if I want to overwrite an existing file that has the same name.

When the Recovery window opens it shows that the latest downloaded file will be saved with (1) appended to the file name.
I'm not at all sure that Sandboxie has anything to do with that. It seems to be due more to the browser or Windows.

I do not get that choice because the recovery window does not open after the download, that's the problem.

I have firefox configured to always ask where to save files. Preferences -> general -> downloads -> Always ask me where to save file => enabled
Also in firefox under applications I have set the action to "always ask" for "compressed (zipped) folder"

With these settings follow the steps below:
- Go to a site with to download .zip file for the first time
- Click on the link
- Firefox opens up a dialog box "What should Firefox do with this file?"
- Choose Save File and press OK
- Firefox opens up a save file dialog box. Choose download directory and press Save
- After the download has complete the sandboxie Immediate recovery window pops up.
- Press Recover to recover the file to the Same folder
- So far so good
- Click the link again
- Firefox opens up a dialog box "What should Firefox do with this file?"
- Choose Save File and press OK
- Firefox opens up a save file dialog box. Choose the same download directory and do not change the name
- Press Save
- Another dialog pops up asking if I want to replace the file
- Choose Yes
- Download will start
Now for the problem:
- After the download has complete the sandboxie recovery window does not pop up
- After several repeated downloads, and in my case after about 1 minute, sbiesrv.exe will crash

By using "Always ask me where to save files" I can duplicate your report about the Immediate Recovery window not opening.
I usually have my Downloads folder selected for all downloads, in the browser's Options.

The Immediate Recovery window doesn't open after the second download of the file. After closing the browser, and auto-delete runs, then Quick Recovery offers to recover the file.

Try setting a specific downloads folder in your Firefox options, to see how that works for you.

Thank you Guest10 for confirming my report. Sure I can set my download folder to one location, which is not handy for me because I download files to different locations, or even rename duplicate files to avoid my problem with the Immediate Recovery window but I think that is not the issue.
The main issue is the consequence of this problem. In my case the consequence is that the Sbiesrv.exe crashes or in same instances firefox crashes. I think these crashes should not happen after downloading and recovering files in sandboxie and that is why I reported the problem.

Confirmed. SbieSvc.exe and SbieCtrl.exe crashed silently. Probably related to DEP or overflow.
