Configuration-Template for Sandboxes

Post by Tester0815 » Mon Nov 15, 2010 4:32 pm

It would be great, if it is possible to create configuration-templates for sandboxes.

If a sandbox has assigned to a template, it is not possible to change the config of the sandbox.

Hello tzuk!

For example, I use 20 sandboxes

5 sandboxes have configuration 1
10 sandboxes have configuration 2
and the other 5 have configuration 3

If now configuration 2 does change, I must change the configuration of 10 sandoxes

Therefore, it would be nice if there would be "configuration templates":

For example I add 3 templates and set them to the sandboxes.

If I change config-template 1 now, the change affects all sandboxes which config-template 1 is assigned

You understand what I mean?

(English is not my native language. That's why I'm doing my bit hard to describe that)

Now, I understand.

This feature request (or variations of it) have been requested a few times and I hope that I can make this happen at some point.

For now, your best bet is to define local templates and add those templates to sandboxes. Then you can change stuff in one place and it applies in all sandboxes where the template has been activated. But this requires understanding and using Sandboxie.ini settings. Are you familiar with that?

Yes, sandboxie.ini is no problem for me.

Of course it would be nice if it would eventually work on the GUI

Yes, of course that would be nice. :)
But for now take a look at Sandbox Settings > Applications > Local,
you can define your own templates (i.e. groups of settings)
and assign them to sandboxes.
