Sandboxie Support

Hello,

Since i installed the new Version of Sandboxie (5.18) on my Windows 10 PC (with Creators Update), i just get Bluescreens when i try to run something in Sandboxie.

Also now installed version 5.19.4 Beta but still same problem / problems. :/

Old Version on old Windows 10 (before Creators Update) worked fine ALL time.

In BlueSceenView its APC_INDEX_MISMATCH

Filename: ntoskrnl.exe adress: ntoskrnl.exe+1776a9

Its happens at for example starting GTA IV in Sandboxie or other game seconds after game exe opens .

Or Kodi or other programm for some minutes working after closing it same error when it was running in sandboxie.

Also i use Aster for Multi User Steam Links. And Eset Internet Scurity

Hi X-Gamer,

Do you have a dmp file that we can review? [They are typically located under C:\Windows ---> memory.dmp].

Does the BSOD occur in a New Sandbox with default settings?
If you run the game outside the Sandbox, do you receive any errors?

Have you installed any new drivers lately, or just Sandboxie?

Also with game and kodi etc without sandboxieno problems also no errors or so no apc index mismatch only in sanboxie also with new sandbox / default also tryed remove all sandboxie etc installed new default settings still same problem.

Also found more threads here at your forum with same problems / bsod at creators update windows 10 and sandboxie after or at 5.18

You can send the dmp file download link to support@sandboxie.com
You'll need to upload it to a file hosting site first. There are plenty of free ones that you can use.

What are the exact repro steps for kodi? I installed it and launched Sandboxed, added pictures and cycled thru them. After a while of checking random settings I exited out of it, no issues (so far).

Can you test the behavior after disabling your Antivirus?

Also yes tested with Antivirus disabled and also deinstalled.

Also now with Aster disabled and driver verifier enabled get DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION - SbieDrv.sys with driver verifier disabled get the apc_index_mismatch beause of sandbox.

Best ist with GTA IV it starts and before Intro get BSOD . Have problems like that in many games and programms in sanboxie. Since Windows 10 Creators Update.

Kodi often work for a hour . but always when i then close kodi get BSOD when its was running in sandbox.

Could there be problems with the SbieDrv.sys ???

MS driver verifier will not work with Sbie. Have you recently updated your video driver?

Hello,

No i myself not updated them windows 10 creatrs update done it after install,

but i gone back to my previous drivers.
tested also newest and others and some of mid 2016 but all same at sandboxie problems.

also think has something todo with

OpenWinClass=Steam.exe,*
OpenWinClass=*

when its added to a sandbox also if only added this without that below. But its needed that sandboxie apps can access other windows !!

also think this can also make problems.???

OpenPipePath=\Device\QWAVEdrv
OpenIpcPath=\Device\PhysicalMemory

or this ?

OpenFilePath=C:\
OpenFilePath=D:\
OpenFilePath=E:\

Hello X-Gamer,

Can you please confirm if the issue happens in a Sandbox with default settings?
Create a new Sandbox for testing purposes.

Also, please try removing "OpenWinClass=* " to see if that alleviates the issue.

Hello X-Gamer ,

For the time being, remove * to avoid further BSODS.
Why do you need to open "* " ? We usually turn it on to test applications as needed, but not as a permanent fix.

That the programm inside sandbox can access outside windows otherwise user / remote user cannot contol / click windows that are not sandboxed

have you meanwhile received a dump file in your mails? without it is complete waste of time to determine.
ofc it is driver made, but not sandboxie, maybe an external audio card.

could be GTA itself. however get the dump!

btw a (mini-)dump do not contain personal data, only hardware infos and running or loaded processes.

Hello Brummelchen ,

We are aware of the issue, it is caused by OpenWinClass=*

It seems to be "new" to Windows 10 CU. We typically do not recommend opening " * ", just use it for testing purposes.
