Maximize windows in IE (or other app)
Hi,
I use this tool called "AutoSizer" but it can´t seem to control sandboxed windows, so can you make SBIE control these windows, so that they are forced to maximize?

Your right, i just tried it and it doesnt work, but heres the weird thing, i tried tracing to see whats blocked, and it turns out that this resource is blocked, "\BaseNamedObjects\AutoSizer123", so i tried opening the path and it didnt work, how come? You can try opening the path yourself and maybe you'll have better luck, just add this to the ini:
Hope it works for you atleast.....
Code: Select all
OpenIpcPath=\BaseNamedObjects\AutoSizer123
Windows 7 SP1 x64, Sandboxie v3.70 x64 with Experimental Protection, GnuPG, OTR (Off-The-Record), Sticky Password, My Brain.
SnDPhoenix, if you're into that kind of testing... Here's what I would do: Use something like WinSpy to check what window classes are created by the AutoSizer application, and try to add them as OpenWinClass.
In all likelyhood, you will have to find an OpenWinClass in addition to the OpenIpcPath that you already found.

I use Auto-Sizer also, it's a handy little app. I have found that any changes you make to your window sizes while sandboxed, don't "stick".
With Sandboxie it actually makes auto-sizer redundant.
What I do is;
1. disconnect from internet connection
2. temporarily disable forced processes
3. open internet explorer and maximize the window
4. close internet explorer
5. hook back in your cable
6. open internet explorer
it will stay maximized on startup forever - as any changes you make to the window will be while sandboxed and will not stay.
little thing but I hope it helps -

ps - dont forget to remove all referances to Internet Explorer within the auto-sizer setup window - you are looking for no connection between the two programs.

yes it does work for "open in a new window"
It sounds to me like you might have an over ambitious cleaner going on startup like CCleaner. If you do, uncheck the cleaning of "window sizes".
I just tried "open in new window" and all of mine were maximized.
"open in a new window" on links within a page is different though, they do not come up maxed. That might work with a one time shot on the web without sandboxie. Just go on any safe site unsandboxed, click on any link and maximize it and close out and it might stay set on maxed for the next time.

Rasheed187, please try the following. It worked for me using FireFox as an example. Note I had to configure AutoSizer to look at the windows title rather than the windows class to get it to work:
1. Add the following lines to sandboxie.ini inside the desired sandbox (not in the 'GlobalSettings' section):
#AutoSizer configuration
OpenWinClass=SysListView32
OpenIpcPath=\BaseNamedObjects\AutoSizer123
2. Reload the configuration file
3. Open Program Sandboxed - Make note of a single word which will always appear in the title bar for this program
4. Open AutoSizer Configuration Window
5. Click on the program in the upper pane you wish to configure
6. Click "AutoSize"
7. Select "Action to perform", I assume you want "Maximize"
5. Change "Window Title" to contain a single word that will always appear in the title bar (in my case I used "FireFox"
6. Select "Compare using window title"
7. Select "Title must contain the window title listed above"
I also discovered that Keylogger Hunter (which I use) blocks this fix. I had to disable it.
Please let us know if this works OK or not.
