Configuration of FossaMail [SOLVED]

Post by joesph66 » Thu Feb 23, 2017 12:02 pm

I have Windows 10 x64 and wish to set up FossaMail with a register version of Sandboxie. I am new with Sandboxie so I want to make sure I'm doing things correctly.
I set up a program group called "Mail" and included fossamail.exe.
In the Quick Recovery section I added C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Roaming\FossaMail.
I also added Fossmail.exe to Forced Programs.
I also added under Resource Access > File Access > / Direct Access "%AppData%\FossaMail\"

Everything appears to work - that is my incoming and outgoing mail is saved.

The question is: Did I set up this application correctly?

Thanks.

Hello joseph66,

Please have a look at this thread for a user-created template for FossaMail (it might a bit dated, but it will help you ensure you set up everything correctly):

Once you have everything set-up, here's how you can test it:

Let us know the outcome.

Looks like this is working.

I do notice that if I just execute FossaMail directly it is not sandboxed. If I right-lick on the sandbox icon and select "Run Email Reader" the app runs sandboxed. Is there a way I could create an icon for FossaMail like for IE (my default browser)? Thanks.

Hello joesph66,

To create a shortcut go to Sandboxie Control ---> Configure---> Windows Shell Integration
Click "Add Shortcut icons", follow the prompt to select the desired Sandbox, then use the menu to navigate to your application.

Since you have a registered version of Sandboxie, you can also use the Forced Program Feature:
