Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 4/1
Yes, that's why
Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 4/1
just figured i'd drop an update on norton 360 (22.6.0.142) compatibility.
although i don't seem to have to make exceptions for individual sandboxie files anymore, norton has begun deleting the files during install.
only solution is to restart when prompted, turn norton on silent mode upon boot, uninstall sandboxie, and reinstall.
i've done a few restarts since, and they seem to play nice again.
i changed both sonar detection and low risks to "ask me" to see if norton acts like it did previously (ie. let me install sandboxie, and then ask whether exceptions should be made or not when the processes go to run).
will update again if i see any changes with the next SB beta release.

Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 4/1
I appreciate the feedback! Good to hear back from users and updates related to all security products and how they interact with SBIE.
Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 4/1
with low risk files set to "ask me" in norton 360, sandboxie 5.11.6 installs with no issues whatsoever.
not only did the install go fine, for whatever reason, norton no longer asks me to make exceptions either.
this user is back to 100% compatibility between the 2.

Thank for the tip!
Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 4/1
Comodo Internet Security(CIS) Compatibility Setting.
Enable CIS compatibily settings in sandboxie.
Add this under global settings:
ClosedFilePath=*\guard64.dll
For CIS Enabled HIPS:
Add HIPS Rules for SbieSvc.exe set to Installer or Updater
For CIS Enabled Autosandbox:
You need to add ignore sandbox rules for any unrecognized applications by CIS
By default any unrecognized applications will be auto sandbox by CIS
To avoid inconvenience disable autosandbox.
@Craig can you test these? I just tested these in windows 10 x64.
If everything goes well, you may update the template.

Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 4/1
I'll move this to contributed utilities, I don't know if we will add it directly to SBIE templates, but that's up to Curt. It's added to that thread to have a quick reference as we look @ it.

That's ok, I don't really use AV, just installed the Firewall Component and the additional settings are required.Craig@Invincea wrote:I'll move this to contributed utilities, I don't know if we will add it directly to SBIE templates, but that's up to Curt. Appreciate the code for sure. I'll give it a test also, and we'll go from there!rpljhun wrote:That's ok, I don't really use AV, just installed the Firewall Component and the additional settings are required.Craig@Invincea wrote:I'll move this to contributed utilities, I don't know if we will add it directly to SBIE templates, but that's up to Curt. Norton Security 22.6 (browser extension disabled) + 5.11.6 okay.

Until they update it, Sometimes even with that disabled, we've seen some oddball behavior with Norton Antivirus / Security Suite / 365.bjm wrote:Norton Security 22.6 (browser extension disabled) + 5.11.6 okay.

No, and there won't be until they remove their code that interferesloyal wrote:AFTER one year still no support for kaspersky 16 .
With Sandboxie. We will not lower our security for a antivirus program that has code from a failed sandbox attempt. We have to be aggressive into Windows and they are too. Why? Unknown, but they are the problem.
Remember, Sandboxie is your primary protection, then one of the many AV products we've tested. Sandboxie Holdings / Invincea recommends Windows Defender if you're curious what's in your sandbox. Or, just make sure you delete those contents regularly.
We've reached out to them in the past on what they need to do, but we're not compromising our product or our resources for an antivirus program.

Any test/opinion regarding Sophos Home Free https://www.sophos.com/en-us/lp/sophos-home.aspx
Norton Security 22.6 (extension disabled + Sandboxie folder Exclude from Norton Auto-Protect) + 5.11.7 okay. YMMV

Re: Antivirus/Anti-malware|SBIE v5+[working/not][Updated 5/0
Thanks! as for YMMV...so true. At home, I use Norton (free from Comcast/Xfinity) which is Norton 365....zero issues w/ SBIE with everything enabled. If I use plain ol 365, poof. Nothing works. Odd.
