No audio with FireFox 54 multiprocess sandboxed [SOLVED]
When I have multiprocess enabled in sandboxed FF54 I get no sound at all from any media. Starting video playback seems to be more sluggish as well. Disabling multiprocess fixes it. Using Sandboxie 5.20 64bit, win 7 64.

Re: No audio with FireFox 54 multiprocess sandboxed
Hello PiwPi,
I tried Firefox x64 and x86 on Windows 7 + Sbie 5.20 and I was not able to reproduce the issue (I tested with YouTube videos).
What websites are presenting the problem?
Does the issue occur in a new Sandbox with default settings?
Do you have any antivirus software installed?
Was it working fine with Firefox v53 + e10s?
Regards,
Barb.-

Re: No audio with FireFox 54 multiprocess sandboxed
Any websites that have video -- youtube, twitch.tv, yahoo.com, news sites, etc.
Yes I tried it with a new FF profile and new Sandbox with default settings.
I have Avast free Antivirus but I have all the real-time monitoring disabled.
I was not using e10s with FF 53 and below. I only started using it with FF 54.
Thanks for replying.

Re: No audio with FireFox 54 multiprocess sandboxed
Hello PiwPi,
I tested again with Avast and Firefox x64, as well as x86, still cannot reproduce the issue.
I have e10s forced in Firefox by adding browser.tabs.remote.force-enable and set it to True in about:config
Does audio work fine outside Sandboxie with FF + e10s?
Do you have any add-ons installed? If yes, can you please try removing them for testing purposes?
You can also try forcing e10s, and then if the audio issue persists, turn off the Firefox Sandbox (provided you always run Firefox inside Sandboxie, it shouldn't be a big problem).
See this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=23902&hilit=blank+ ... 30#p126150
Have you tried re-installing Firefox?
Regards,
Barb.-

Re: No audio with FireFox 54 multiprocess sandboxed
This worked! Disabling Firefox's sandbox fixed the issue including the delayed video playback. Thanks for the help.then if the audio issue persists, turn off the Firefox Sandbox (provided you always run Firefox inside Sandboxie, it shouldn't be a big problem).
Can I ask why you need to force e10s? FF 54 has it enabled by default.
Also, does Firefox's sandbox work the same as Sandboxie? If I have Firefox's sandbox enabled without Sandboxie and I get malware would I be protected?

No sound in Sandboxie
I'm using the latest Firefox 54.01 32 bit and Sandboxie 5.20 64 bit. YouTube and Facebook videos have no audio and YT videos are kinda laggy when starting out in the sandbox.
Let me further add that I have uninstalled Sandboxie twice deleting the ini file as well. I also have the delete invocation turned on in my sandboxes.

Hello PiwPi,
You can find more information regarding Firefox Sandbox here:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Security/Sandbox
As for e10s, sometimes it gets disabled outside Sandboxie due to compatibility tools or similar, so forcing it can help in some scenarios. You can find more info in the thread I posted before.

Re: No audio with FireFox 54 multiprocess sandboxed [SOLVED]
I already specified what version of Sandboxie and Firefox. I'm using Win 7 64 bit. Using Bitdefender Free. I don't know how to adjust the settings for Firefox sandbox feature?
I don't have this issue using Pale Moon.
BTW- When you moved my post I had no idea it was moved. It wasn't until I looked at this topic I seen it.
