SBIE2335 Init. failed for process Start.exe

Hello, my envirnoment is this:
- Windows XP - SP3 (I know, it's no more supported! )
- Sandboxie 4.20
- No antivirus, only Outpost Firewall Pro 8.0

Everytime I try to start a program (any program) with SB, I see these error codes:

SBIE2336 Error in GUI server: [63 / 00000008]
SBIE2336 Error in GUI server: [22 / 77000001]
SBIE2335 Initialization failed for process Start.exe [88 / 126]
SBIE2337 Failed to start program: [55 / 1067]

and this dialog:

Sandboxie Start
---------------------------
Could not invoke program:
"D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\FreeFileSync.lnk" (depends on the launched program)
System Error Code:
The process terminated unexpectedly.
(1067)
---------------------------

I tried to uninstall and re-install SB, but it is the same.
I searched in the forum without success.

Any help?

P.S. BTW, this page http://www.sandboxie.com/index.php?SBIE_Messages does not list errors SBIE2335,6,7 !

Hi Freddo, hopefully your XP is 32 bits. 64 Bits XP is not supported by SBIE. Sandboxie works great in my XP. You should be able to use version 4.20 or latest beta (5.01.13) in your XP if its 32 bits. I suggest you test disabling and if that doesn't get Sandboxie working, uninstalling Outpost to see if it makes a difference.

Hi Bo, thanks for your attention, yes my XP is 32 bit and I forgot to say I used SBIE for years without problems!
Only since about two weeks I see this behaviour.

I tried to stop Outpost (also stopping the service) and to install the latest beta 5.02RC, but the problem is the same (see the screenshot)

Note: in the "Messages from Sandboxie", the first three messages appear immediately and the last one (2337) after few seconds along with the error dialog.

I looked for start.exe, but, as supposed, I did not find it because is an internal command.
I think something interfere with the way SBIE tries to execute the target process (maybe using the 'start' command? ),
but I dont know how to narrow the search for the problem.

Hi Freddu:
I would make sure you completly remove Outpost first, then reinstall it & Run SBIE v4.20. Start.exe is invoked by SBIE. Oh, we still support XP SP3, MS may not, but we do!

I do not know if I can save the setup and reconfigure it is a task too long.
As I said I have used SBIE with Outpost for years without problems.
Anyway I also tried reinstalling SBIE while Outpost was not working.
Error messages can not help you identify the problem?

Most of the time, those error messages are vague. I know you removed and reinstalled SBIE, but try and delete the contents of your SB...lets try that. I'm not sure what timer.lnk is?

Gotcha!
After searching again in the forum some information about the error SBIE2335, I found a reference to Skype.
So I tried to finish Skype and ... tada! SBIE works again!

I tried again rebooting to have a clean condition and confirm: closing Skype SBIE back to work.
The curious fact is that relaunching Skype, SBIE continue to work properly as if the temporary stop of Skype had re-established a proper working condition.

Thanks again for the help.
I hope that the next version will be able to resolve this small inconvenience that, I suspect, is a work of Microsoft!
