I don't think this would be possible with Sandboxie since the Sandbox installed OS would need access to all of the features/settings of the Computers hardware, thus making the Sandbox feature next to useless.

I think the only way this could be achieved safely is by emulating the computers hardware like the way VMWare Workstation does it, then you can install the OS in a Sandboxed environment for the emulated hardware. But with that, you are not going to get full speed with the sandboxed OS, since it would be using emulated hardware rather than using the real hardware settings, etc. :)

You could sandbox a vm or run Sandboxie within a vm. Both scenarios are possible, having been done, but it does seem like, imo anyway, overkill.

As mentioned before. Running a virtual machine is what the thread starter is asking for. But you'll need an extra licence for windows if that's what you're planning to run.

Virtualbox is a program that can emulate whole operating system.
