Windows 8 and auto starting sandboxes & need a few point

Post by omen124 » Sat Nov 17, 2012 7:28 am

Hello, I recently installed windows 8 and sandboxie on my computer. Yay for new security standard.
My issue is that I enjoy using the Metro apps like mail but they aren't sandboxed, ontop of that links opened from those apps tend to be in an unsandboxed browser.
Any tips for resolving this and getting them sandboxed (automatic start up or just new links that are sandboxed?

Also since I'm new to this any recommended settings I should use (e.g. multiple boxes or particular settings, or security setups etc)? (besides auto clearing default sandbox [which chrome browser uses] when all sandboxed apps are close for that box).

Maybe this thread will answer your question concerning Metro apps:

At this time, Sandboxie does not support Metro apps on Windows 8.

That is unfortunate because their default mail app is rather elegant and compatible with alot of email accounts, just would have liked that extra peace of mind. Pitty we cant automatically sandbox the application in the background rather then having to open it via sandbox.
