tablet Surface pro and the virtual keyboard

Post by laclac1 » Sun Nov 29, 2015 6:14 pm

Hi,

I have a problem with my tablet surface pro 4 on Windows 10 and Sandboxie.
In fact, normally when I put the focus on a field (in firefox 42 for example), automatically the vitual keyboard is launched.
But in a Sandboxee, the virtual keyboard isnot launched. So it's very boring because I can't tape on the tablet mode.

Normally the tabtip.exe must be launched, but I think there is a problem of communcation between tabtip and firefox because sandboxie blocks (I think).
How can I resolve the problem please ?

SBIE Has not been tested on the new Surface 4. However, on the original Surface it did work, but that was before my time. You would need to grant SBIE access to that file, there is a post here http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... exe#p24449 that details it, but it doesn't seem like there was any follow up if it ended up working or not.

I do know that the on screen keyboard for the Dell Venue tablet running 8.1 and 10 works perfectly with SBIE. The Surface does have some unique drivers...What happens when you use a different browser (Edge is not supported..)

hi
I change the configuration and include the line :
OpenFilePath=firefox.exe,C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink\TabTip.exe

But it's not really better.
Now when I click on a field in firefox, I see the process tabtip.exe open (but i don't see the keyboard) and it is closing automatically.

I include a screenshot of the monitoring but I don't know the usefull :P

I don't have ideal to resolve the problem.
Edge isnot compatible and I don't have other browser.

Windows 10 has IE 11 built in....

So, You don't have to use Edge. SBIE, by default.... will force to open IE 11 when you click on "Sandboxed Web Browser" icon.

Try and see what it does..if the in screen keyboard works.

You can also set IE as your default under Internet Options > Programs tab > Internet programs > Set programs.

I don't know much more about the Surface, other than what I mentioned. I'm currently using a Dell Venue Tablet running Win 10 (prev 8.1) in the office at the moment, and using SBIE v5.06 without any changes or editions. It simply worked. So, I'm leaning to some issues on how the Surface runs the touchscreen.

With IE it"s better but not perfect.
In fact, if i click in a field in a page..google etc.. the keyboard will be opened
But on the url field/bar, the keyboard isn t open.
