On WinXP SP2, I`m running Sandboxie v3.00.13 flawlessly, no errors, no hangups, no slow-downs, nothing unexpected at all. Once configured to my taste I barely know it's there. My only thing is, it wasn't very valuable for my needs until registered, but after I forked over the 25 bucks for the new abilities you get, it has surely become indespensible.
Was a time I used to run all kinds of layered crap to feel safe, but lately I see my error. IMHO all that "layering" is simply modeled after outdated technology and people should move on. I have completely swore off signature-based security methods, they just don't make sense in todays "change-every-hour" environment, and it will surely get worse. How many sigs will they require in 5 years? 500,00? 5,000,000?
Now I use Sandboxie and Prevx2, they play very well together, and for me and my system these two alone provide nothing less than overkill protection. I trust Prevx to let me know if and when malware (perhaps more accuartely "unknownware") is present, and then Sandboxie will let me "roll back" (delete sandbox) if anything happens to slip past Prevx or more importantly, the human error factor (aka: the oooops-I-shouldn't-have-clicked-that-button factor). Just wonderful, never felt more secure online.
All the above aside, it's possible to even forget the security reasons, because SB is just too handy when I need to try out software without the commitment to cluttering my files & registry.
Well there ya go, MY trouble-free experience. Maybe one day I`ll spend as much time writing for support, but at this time, I`ve no reason to.
"Adding some balance", as it goes..
