Goto this line in your configuration:
OpenFilePath=opera.exe,%AppData%\Opera\Opera9.2\profile\opera6.adr
and remove the 9.2 in the second Opera, that should fix the problem seeing as the correct entry should be:

OpenFilePath=opera.exe,%AppData%\Opera\Opera\profile\opera6.adr

Wait! i just noticed something, i mustve read over your post a little cause i need you to elaborate on something first, what do you mean you cant save bookmarks? if you run Opera sandboxed and you try to add a bookmark does it give an error, or does it only save in the sandboxed opera and not the unsandboxed opera, or do you add a bookmark and when you look in the bookmarks list, it just doesnt show up? cause i assume that you are having problems getting your bookmarks to show up in the unsandboxed opera right? cause if thats the case then first off your ini file looks fine which means that it is most like one of these 2 problems, either, 1. you simply havent reloaded your configuration file yet, or 2. you might need to give the full path to your bookmarks file, if so, then just open up opera (either sandboxed or unsandboxed) and type into your address bar "opera:about" and hit enter, then go down a little until you see this section "Bookmarks" and to the right you should see a path, (to your bookmark file), well try adding that as your OpenFilePath and see if it works.

OK,

I have added the full path name of my bookmarks that i got from opera:about, and now i get an error msg when saving bookmarks sandboxd

Opera Could not save the host file to
C:\Documents and Settings\Saj\Application Data\Opera\Opera9.2\profile\opera6.adr

Retry Cancel

I have rebooted my pc and same thing happens.

Originaly, when i saved my bookmarks Sandboxd I could view them In sandboxd opera no error msg. But i cant see them Unsnadboxed and when i clear the sandbox they are gone. So they are saving to the sandbox.

This is the line that i added to the sandboxie config file

OpenFilePath=opera.exe,C:\Documents and Settings\Saj\Application Data\Opera\Opera9.2\profile\opera6.adr

This has me stumped, cos from all that i have read it should work. I also tried *.adr at the end as well.

yeah im stumped too cause as i said, your ini file looks fine, so i dont know what could be the problem, other than there might be/is a small conflict on your machine or you might just have to run a trace and see if you can figure out whats wrong, unless someone else has any other ideas? wait a sec, i dont know if this is the problem or not, or maybe it is contributing to the problem, but i notice that your opera bookmark file is located on C drive, yet you have sandboxie BoxRootFolder set to your E drive, so maybe that is whats (if anything) conflicting? Also have you installed Opera into sbie cause if so then you would have to use OpenPipePath instead of OpenFilePath, well im all out of ideas now, anybody else got any ideas? :?

Hi Saj,

go to "Help", "About Opera" to find the path for your profile folder. Ie. it's "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Opera", your settings would be:

Code: Select all

[OperaBox]

Enabled=yes
CopyLimitKb=32768

OpenFilePath=opera.exe,C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Opera

AutoDelete=Yes
AutoRecover=Yes

ForceProcess=opera.exe

LingerProcess=acrord32.exe
LingerProcess=jusched.exe
LingerProcess=syncor.exe

RecoverFolder=%Desktop%

BlockDrivers=y
BlockFakeInput=y
If you don't want to activate the AutoRecover/RecoverFolder feature for your desktop, please delete "AutoRecover=Yes" and "RecoverFolder=%Desktop%". If you only want to unsandbox your bookarks please change the OpenFilePath= to

OpenFilePath=opera.exe,C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Opera\opera6.adr

I just tracked down the problem and found a fix.

For Opera 9.20 you have to add

Code: Select all

OpenFilePath=opera.exe,C:\Documents and Settings\Saj\Application Data\Opera\Opera9.2\profile\opera6.adr
OpenFilePath=opera.exe,C:\Documents and Settings\Saj\Application Data\Opera\Opera9.2\profile\*.tmp
to your Sandboxie.ini.

Sandboxed *.tmp in the profile directory result in this error message... strange, isn't it?

I can check it out. Is this all I have to do to get the error:

Code: Select all

OpenFilePath=opera.exe, . . . \Application Data\Opera\Opera9.2\profile\opera6.adr
:?:

Oliver, I finally got around to testing this, with the latest beta, and I opened the path for just the opera6.adr file, and I got no error.

While obviously I haven't fixed anything because of this problem, since I'm just testing it now, I do vaguely remember fixing some minor glitches in the way sandboxing works on files.
