Still any advantage to restricted rights?

Post by RonC » Wed Sep 06, 2006 5:46 pm

For all practical purposes, does running MSIE sandboxed eliminate the advantage of running Windows as a Restricted User when surfing the 'net? If not eliminated, is the advantage of running with reduced rights now at the point of insignificance?

The answer to this question comes after reading Tzuk's comments on Protected Mode and then doing a Google search on <Vista "Protected Mode" IE7>:

In line with the "multi-layered approach" for maintaining system integrity, yes, always run any browser as a Restricted User AND under Sandboxie protection.
