MS Office 2016 and Sandboxie

Post by Bellzemos » Sat Feb 11, 2017 6:31 pm

Hi, I will try setting Sandboxie protection over Office 2016 in Windows 10. Does that 8-page PDF guide still apply or are there any new changes to go about it? Thanx!

Pardon my noobness but what 8 page pdf are you referring to?

Update: I used the search function (zomg!, right? me search? haha) and found this:
http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 5&p=119223
along with a link to a pdf

I think the most important part there might be this sentence:
**THIS IS HISTORICAL INFO ONLY. THIS HAS ALL BEEN "BAKED" INTO SBIE v.5.11.6 AND ABOVE**

followed in importance by
CLICK TO RUN SUPPORT IN SBIE IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO PAID USERS, AS THIS IS A PAID FEATURE

Hope that helps with your question?

Hm, the link to the PDF is broken in the forum link you provided. I saved it on my drive a long time ago.

I have paide, registered and activated Sandboxie and am running v5.16. So all I have to do is follow the PDF guide and Office 2016 should work under Sandboxie?

Hi Bellzemos,

You should be able to use Office 2016 with the paid version of Sandboxie, pretty much out of the box.
Please let us know if you experience any issues.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

For outlook: [http://forums.sandboxie.com/phpBB3/view ... 45#p126237]
Outlook does not like the Sandboxie "#"s in the Reminder dialog title, for some reason.
In sandbox.ini, in the sandbox where you are running Outlook, add the following line:
BoxNameTitle=-

For Word:

Regards,
Barb.-

My default web browser is FF, not IE so I guess I'll be fire regarding sandboxing Word 2016 and I don't use Outlook at the moment. I'll try this for the weekend or sometime when I have some more free time. Thanx!

I use Office 365 and as I installed sandboxie in a non-standard location, I had to edit the template. May not apply to Office 2016 or your situation, but just in case as it drove me crazy for ages.
