Is sandboxie no longer freeware?

Post by Unknown_User_701 » Fri Apr 20, 2007 2:16 pm

Softpedia.com makes it seem like Sandboxie is shareware...30 day free trial. See link below. What happens to users after the 30 day trial? Does it then go to the crippled version (which is still very powerful)?

When I bought Sandboxie I was under the impression that you could use it for as long as you want for free. But if you wanted the full version (which I did) then you had to register (at a very reasonable price). Is that still the case?

Not making a judgement here as $25 is an excellent price for such a fine piece of software. Just wanted to know the procing policy as I reccomend the product to others...

AFAIK, it doesnt really install as a 30 day trial, it installs as a "full" version (just minus the features and options that you need to register to obtain) its just that after 30 days, it shows a message saying how its been more than 30 days and that you should register if you like the program (or something like that), but it still runs and for free, and it definitely doesnt turn into a "crippled" version after 30 days.

Hey now, it's not crippled!

Crippled is Sandboxie telling you that you've been running sandboxing stuff for 30 minutes now, and then terminate all your programs.

That's something to think about, for those people complaining that I'm not being fair by not giving away everything for free. :P
