I'd like to know the easiest way to remove any custom settings you have for a sandbox and return to the default settings.
If the sandbox is empty, will removing it and then re-creating it do the trick?
What if the sandbox isn't empty? Would removing everything under that particular sandbox's name in the .INI file cause SB to use the default settings upon restart?
How to remove customized settings and return to defaults?

If you mean "Remove Sandbox" in Sandboxie Control, and then "Create New Sandbox": then yes, that will return the sandbox to default settings.CPB wrote:If the sandbox is empty, will removing it and then re-creating it do the trick?
There have been issues in the past when someone removed DefaultBox, and I can't say that the problem is solved for sure. So, be sure to recreate the spelling as 'DefaultBox' if you remove and recreate it.
If you use "Remove Sandbox" you will be told to first use "Delete Contents", if it's not empty. Then you can "Remove" it, and recreate it if desired.CPB wrote:What if the sandbox isn't empty?
No, that sandbox would no longer exist. If only the name remained, it would not be usable.CPB wrote:Would removing everything under that particular sandbox's name in the .INI file cause SB to use the default settings upon restart?
At the very least, it wouldn't be usable because it wouldn't have the "Enabled=y" setting.

Yes, that's what I meant, thanks. I wasn't referring to the Default Box, but one I created myself.Guest10 wrote:If you mean "Remove Sandbox" in Sandboxie Control, and then "Create New Sandbox": then yes, that will return the sandbox to default settings.
What about this for returning an existing (but not empty) sandbox to its default settings: edit the .INI file and copy the settings from a sandbox you know is using the default settings, and paste them over the settings of a sandbox that's using customized settings?

It might work. I haven't read about anyone who has done it.CPB wrote:What about this for returning an existing (but not empty) sandbox to its default settings: edit the .INI file and copy the settings from a sandbox you know is using the default settings, and paste them over the settings of a sandbox that's using customized settings?
Just be sure to use Configure > Edit Configuration, since that will force a Reload Configuration and refresh the settings that are stored in memory as soon as you save the configuration file.
And, of course, not while that sandbox is in use.
