Is Browser sandboxed?

Post by CybrGuy » Wed Oct 30, 2013 1:03 pm

I have recently updated my Sandboxie and my Opera, and I have noticed when I r-click my Opera ond choose "run sandboxed", Opera in the title bar is NOT surrounded by plus signs. The yellow highlight does surround the browser window, but I am used to the notification in the title bar. Is this a change or is something misbehaving? I see other programs still have the plus signs...

1. They're not plus signs.

2. Did you check your appearance settings for that sandbox?

Of course they are pound sign, not pluses, but the forum would not let me fix that for 10 minutes.

Where and what are the appearance settings? I only rarely use this program.

CybrGuy, some programs don't show the hash/pound # sign when they are running sandboxed. Thats because they use non standard title area. For me, KMPlayer and IE9 dont show it.

Sandboxie control>Sandbox>DefaultBox>Sandbox settings>Appearance.

I like the # signs, if a program don't show it, I don't do nothing. You can keep using the yellow border or make changes in Appearance if you like.

The appearance setting have no effect on whether or not the pound signs appear in the Opera title bar. They have not been disabled, but toggling the controls has no effect.

I know from other indicators that the window is sandboxed, but the pound signs are not working as an easily apparent indicator.

Already explained above. There is no place to show the #. You can see the hash sign just fine if you disable the grouping in taskbar.

You can also set Program Alerts so Sandboxie notifies you if a program is launched "OUTSIDE" of sandbox.

Sandboxie Control > Configure > Program Alerts [Add Program] button.
Sandboxie
