How to create a web page shortcut to my destop ?

Post by Unknown_User_902 » Sat Aug 04, 2007 11:36 pm

My forced browser is Maxhon, it works fine. But in this sandboxed environment I'd like to enjoy the same convenience to right click to create a web page shortcut to my desktop, as in the case of working on an un-sandboxed browser.

Please help. Thanks in advance.

Maybe opening the path to your desktop might help?
Windows 7 SP1 x64, Sandboxie v3.70 x64 with Experimental Protection, GnuPG, OTR (Off-The-Record), Sticky Password, My Brain.

Are Maxthon "Web page shortcuts" any different from IE favorites?

If they aren't, you can use the Sandboxie Control interface, it lets you exclude IE favorites from sandboxing, without having to edit INI files.

Thanks for your response. I've spent some time in trying to understand the function of OpenFilePath, but am unable to form the idea in how to open the path for a shortcut to land directly on my desktop. Would you mind please show me the way to do it?

Thanks.

Thanks for your response. I always prefer to place a web page shortcut to my desktop, rather directly to the IE favorites.
That is why I raised my question. I understand that I can always access the default box to recover the shortcuts to my desktop. Would you mind advise further please?

Well to open the path to your desktop, just goto your ini file, and add "OpenFilePath=" along with the full path to your desktop, so it should look something like this:

Code: Select all

OpenFilePath=C:\Documents and Settings\(your windows username)\Desktop
Then just reload your ini file, and your done.

Followed your advice & got it done. The outcome is exactly what I wanted.
Thank you very much indeed.

Have a nice day.
