Hello SolarisGrim

Are you using the Acrobat Templates? If not, please add all 4 to a newly created Sandbox and let us know if that helps.
(Right click on your Sandbox --> Sandbox settings --> Applications --> PDF/Printing).
Did you receive the same license crash, or what did you see this time?

One more thing to test is disable your Antivirus and Firewall and see if that keeps the issue from occurring.

Barb.-

Hi Barb.

I added 4 of the templates to a newly created sandbox and this time I get the license nag every single time:

"Your request could not be completed. Adobe Acrobat license has either expired or not been activated"

so actually this made it worse, now wont print at all. I have disabled both, firewall and antivirus with no change :(

Funny thing is, when I created the new default box I forgot to add FF to forced startup programs and then when I added the 4 templates to the settings and started printing, everything was printing really fast and so smoothly I got so excited I though.. wholly molly its fixed :D , than I realize I was not sandboxed, that have burst the bobble :( :)

Thank you

Update:

Reinstalled SBIE 5.17.1 again, created new default box and added 4 templates to PDF/printing, rebooted and now instead of getting constant license nag like I posted above, it freezes again while trying to print and crashes, but than again, if I go through the step file/print preview it will print and will keep on printing for slightly longer than with SBIE 5.16, so that has change by updating SBIE from 5.16 to 5.17.1 beta.

So, it appears that adding the 4 templates to SBIE didn't have any positive nor negative effect, it's the same.

I guess the first time when I added the 4 templates I forgot to reboot my PC, that might have been the reason for the constant license issue pop up.

OK, this is getting strange, last night I left sandboxie content in tact I didn't delete it and that is with 4 templates added, this morning again nag each time I want to print. I removed the templates and just left the Adobe Acrobat Reader and after the first initial.. file/print preview it prints, at least for a while, so I need to correct my statement that adding templates have no negative effects, it has.
I'm totally puzzled here

Hi SolarisGrim,

I am still not able to re-reproduce the issue. It has been working fine lately, I do have all 4 templates added to my sandbox.

What may be happening is that acrotray is being closed when you delete the contents of your Sandbox , but you should be able to re-launch it via Firefox when printing to pdf... Try using the Adobe Acrobat template only.

I have a few more suggestions/questions:
Please be sure to clear Firefox cache outside SBIE, then try again in a new Sandbox.
Are you using both Sandboxed browsers and non- sandboxed simultaneously to print? If so, can you try using only Sandboxie instead?
Have you tried login to Adobe Pro outside Sbie? (Just open Acrobat Pro and you should see the sign-in option on the top right).

Barb.-

Here are steps I took, it's on clean PC from scratch:

Added only Adobe Acrobat template
FF catch, history and everything else is clear
New sandbox created
I only do one print at the time, I will either print outside or inside SBIE, but only
1 instance of FF nothing simultaneous

I can also login and sign to my Adobe with my ID outside SBIE Rebooted PC and no change....Also, once printing crashes upon ending task I get the little square window "Access Denied"

I have tried all 4 templates separately to see if it makes any difference, but it doesn't, with all 4 templates or Adobe Acrobat template only after while I get the license expired issue, which doesn't happen when only Adobe Acrobat 8 or 9 with Distiller is added by default to compatibility software.

And again I can print all day long without SBIE and no issue what so ever, so SBIE its stopping something and preventing from printing and aside from that which seems to be separate issue its not allowing licensing to be checked correctly.

Well, works with previous version of acrobat I was going to leave it and see if something changes down the road but I like acrobat to be always up to date for the security reason I work on it almost daily.
Obviously SBIE its stopping acrobat from functioning as it should as far is printing goes, as I said, adobe added something new and that's what causing the issues but only through SBIE.
If there is anything else you think of and maybe figure this out later on let me know, for now I have two options, print outside SBIE ( probably the best for now) or uninstall it and check it down the road for any changes I don't know maybe some sort of miracle I guess :D but that would be silly I can still use SBIE to browse websites and open apps within and like I said I love SBIE and I would have a hard time without it now
Thank you very much for all your help I guess there is so much you can do when your not in front PC that have that issue if perhaps anything else you think of please let me know

Sincerely

Hi Barb.

Alright, I have discovered something new, it's a good news, it works as it should, but at this point I still don't know the culprit that causes the problem, I hope that when I'm done investigating this, it will still work as it does atm. and I can share my finding .

Because I really want SBIE to work on my system I am trying everything I can to find out what on earth is going on, you saying it works for you and I'm having so much hard time, so ....is it possible something else is going on with my system? well I never thought of that and instead of thinking that only SBIE could be the problem, let's look at other possibilities.

I have several machines at home but they all have Acrobat XI Pro and I have no need to upgrade them to DC Pro so this was the part where I had to rely only on my system and only use images from previous installs that I made and go from there.

So far this is what's happening. I have reloaded my very first image I created of my PC and that was very first ISO, contains only SP1 and few other updates. I than installed Acrobat DC Pro and updated to the latest version .20053, than I installed latest FF, Firewall, antivirus and SBIE v5.16

I added FF to SBIE's forced startup programs and went ahead and started browsing the web I know this a huge difference in my system responsiveness, it was a very noticeable difference, now with or without SBIE my browser its opening almost instantly and I mean so fast that I am really surprised.

I thought, with the system I have I shouldn't t see whole lot of slowdowns, but I actually did, very slight, in theory when SBIE its filtering content you might see some minor slowdowns but considering my 4960X at 4.7GHz, 64GB of RAM I was a little suspicion of something not being right.

Anyways, now I can print any page without any issues, no nags, no license expired and the speed of printing is better than ever, so I guess it's not the SBIE.

I am very happy. What I will do is from this point on I will be installing all windows updates and from time to time I will occasionally try to printing to see when, if I will get the same issue again, if after updates I'm still all good I will proceed with installation of all of my software one by one and in between I will check printing again, even FF add-ons, they could be causing this, so once I'm done I will report back, hopefully I will get to the bottom of this and we can close this thread and this might also help someone else if they come across similar situation.

Thanks again for all your help and I will check back when I have any news.

Hello SolarisGrim ,

Thank you for the detailed update.
I'll keep an eye on Acrobat as well (I have a few more days left on my trial version) and see if anything comes up, and let you know if anything new comes up.

Hi Barb.

Here are my findings in regards to the issue that I have reported few days ago with printing web pages with acrobat DC Pro through Sandboxie.

I had no choice but to start from scratch, I had to many programs, windows updates on my system to try to pinpoint the cause of the problem.

Right from the start I was blaming Sandboxie and o boy...was I wrong
So I started with clean Windows installation which had nothing except SP1 and couple of small updates.

I've installed latest Acrobat DC Pro, then installed Sandboxie 5.16 and at this point I had no problem printing any pages in fact my browser through SBIE was opening lightning fast, as soon as I double click Firefox's icon, Google page would open almost instantly and printing of any giving page was just as fast, It was never that fast prior to this :D

I started installing all windows updates lots of them, still no issue printing, same speed.

Started installing software, lots of them, still no problem.

Last thing...Deep Freeze Enterprise, I have be using DF Ent. for about 15 years and I've never had any issues with it I control and manage all of my wife's workstations in the house and at her work.
The other day I have updated my DF and I have pushed updated seeds to all of her workstations and I could see 2 of her computers disappeared from my administrators console, this was never the case before, or if I lost some of the machines on console, it was for few minutes, but not this time, It felt that couple of her computer's we're not running the same way as well.

I don't know what went wrong while I updated DF did, but obviously something was not right.
The bottom line is that this new version was breaking not only my Acrobat, but also Paragon software that I use on daily basis for backups.

I have reverted to previous version of DF Ent. and all issues disappeared.

Now! was it the DF causing this, was it something I did wrong  well I wanted to be sure, so I went through this process again and installed the newest version of DF and to my suspicion, exactly the same thing was happening again.

I have reported this issue to Faronics, so hopefully they will look in to this and release new revised version of DF.

Thank you for all your help, you can close this thread, it's been fixed.

Sincerely
