tzuk, can I have your permission to use the Sandboxie banner (like at the top of this screen) as a splash image in my portable launcher?

I'd rather not. Your installer is unofficial, it's going to be weird if it displays the Sandboxie logo more prominently than the Sandboxie software itself.

I said that I want to register it and if you could make the portable edition to store the registration on the usb-stick. So when I use my version from the stick it is registered to me. When I remove it from the computer the registration is not left on the computer. It is stored on the key. So I never share the registration with any other people.

Yes we all know that as you've made it plenty obvious by now, but thats not the problem. The problem is that even though you wouldnt be registering sandboxie on someone elses pc, you'd still be running your registered version on someone elses pc, that is the problem, so quit the rambling nonsense about "im not registering it on someone elses pc"

Ok. How bout I just use the ICON in a small splash that says initializing or something? BTW, the splash is only displayed for about 2 seconds when the portable launcher starts, and that's it. If that's not what you understood before, let me know if that changes your mind about using the logo.

Once an understanding is reached here, the new version will have some neat things in it

Still negative on the logo. When you say ICON, do you mean the 32x32 small yellow icon? That would be fine by me.

Yep, just the 32x32 icon. I mean, I'll make it a bit bigger, but no other edits. The rest of splash screen will be mine. This should be interesting since I suck at photoshop

Ok. Would you like that on the splash (not really room for it there), in the 'Comments' section of the launcher's properties page, or just as a comment in the source?

Make it somewhere where it's visible to the person installing your package.

Also please have it say that by installing this software you are agreeing to the Sandboxie license. You don't have to add a whole license agreement dialog box, just make that statement visible.

I hope you understand my reasons for this. It can't look like anyone can just go willy nilly repackage Sandboxie and put it up for download where ever they please. It has to look like an unofficial package done with permission.

Updated SandboxiePortable -

Some noteable changes in this release. Due to some of the license talk flying about and a few requests by tzuk, I'm now including some portable license info in the package as txt files, and in the comments section of the launcher properties.

I've also decided not to include the Sandboxie program files with this package anymore. I think it complicates the license issue, and probably violates the existing one anyway. Plus since tzuk is squashing bugs like a champ, I can't possibly keep releasing a new version everytime the program files are updated. The included README.txt has installation instructions.

I'm also not publishing the source anymore for the launcher. I don't want anyone redistributing it or modifying it now that licensing is called into question. Sandboxie is not open source/GPL, so neither is the launcher.

That junk aside, there's some cool new stuff in this one. I hope you like the eye candy

As always, suggestions are welcome.

- If Control.exe is running, the launcher will terminate. No multiple instances allowed.

- Added RequestExecutionLevel = admin for better Vista compatibility

wraithdu, Thanks for the latest version of Portable Sandboxie.
I'd like to make a request that you have the option to delete the "%AppData%\Sandbox" folder when you exit Portable sandboxie. I hate leaving something on the pc I use. (I'm just a little bit anal!!!).
