Starting Services in Sandboxie

Post by HolySimpsons » Sat Dec 15, 2012 8:29 am

Hello everybody,

I just experienced a Problem with starting a Game in one of my Sandboxes.
It needs PunktBuster installed and running, but the program does not manage it to start the Service.
Can I allow to start this service somehow, or is there any trick?

Greetings

Thanks for the link.

Is there really no way to let programs from one Sandbox access the Services?
I had many problems with the Game in the Sandbox, but I solved almost all of them.
If only the installation of the Services wouldnt stop at "starting services" every single time.
I would start the service manually every time than, but the installations isn't working this way..

It's not clear to me if the service is defined outside of the sandbox or inside of the sandbox.
If it's outside of the sandbox, then this might be of use:

Services typically have a "Display name" and a "Service name".
Display name: Print Spooler
Service name: Spooler

I've never used the "StartService" setting, but I think that you need to use the "Service name" in it.
Start > Run > services.msc > OK > double-click the display "Name" in the list, to see the "Service name"
