Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Using Sandboxie

I love sandboxie, and think it should be an integral piece of every Windows user's PC security setup. Unfortunately, to get the most out of sandboxie takes a some work. I've put together a pretty thorough guide on how to properly configure a browser sandbox for a first time user. I wrote the guide mostly for friends and family whom I've directed to Sandboxie over the years, but hopefully others can find it useful. Part I – Protecting Your Browser (link)

In this article, we’ll take you through to process of properly configuring Sandboxie with your internet browser, go through the most important settings, and show you how to work around common Add-on problems.

Part II— Protecting Your Email, Office suite, and PDF reader (forthcoming)

In Part II, we’ll provide instructions on how to properly configure and use Sandboxie with other common applications including your email client and PDF reader.

Part III—Protecting Your Removable Media and Downloads Folder (forthcoming)

In this part, we’ll provide instructions on how to configure Sandboxie to automatically protect your removable media (like CDs, DVDs, portable hard drives, and USB sticks) and Downloads directory.

Part IV—Advanced Topics (forthcoming)

Finally, in Part IV, we’ll cover some of the more advanced Sandboxie functions, including using Sandboxie to make applications portable.
