S/B and Opera Neon ? [SOLVED]

Loooooong term Sandboxie user here. Opera is my browser of choice; works wonderful with Tzur's Miracle.

However, when I tried to run Opera's new 'concept' browser "Neon", I could not get it to work as a forced program. I am running Windows 7. The Neon installer installed it in my App Data > Local folder.

Any help here? Maybe reinstalling in one of the C: Program folders? Make any difference?

VERY nervous about going on The Web un-sandboxed.....

Bill

Hello bill1937,

What are your OS, Antivirus and Sandboxie versions?
Neon support was added to Sandboxie starting with beta 5.17.2

I am able to force neon.exe on Windows 10 x 64 + Sbie 5.17.6 + default Opera Neon installation (.exe located in Appdata).
What happens when you try to launch it? Have you enabled the Neon template ?

Regards,
Barb.-

Thanks, Barb....

I am running Windows Seven, 64 bit, use no anti-virus, and using S/B 5.16

I never thought of a Sandboxie 'beta' try.....[decent technician, here...but very little 'software' skill, so I shy from non-proven things]

Yes, I also used the default Neon install. Have to run an errand, but when I get back I'll try Beta 5.17.2.....assuming I can find it

Will report results....

Hello bill1937,

Support for new software is added via Betas, once the betas are ready, a stable release version comes out.

Please download the latest beta via this link:

Perfect, Barb ! While Neon isn't quite for First Row usage, it is fun to use, casually...NOW, safely.

Thanks for the help. I don't often come on this forum...mainly because most of it is over my head, but when I *have* come here....always good results!

Cheers 'n' Beers
