Testing a new security app

Post by Oneder » Mon Mar 05, 2007 5:11 am

Checking out RunScanner(beta), sorta like Hijackthis on steroids, which allows to check processess on an online database.Checked out SB's control.exe.
control.exe information

Path found: c:\ program files\ sandboxie\ control.exe
Version: 2.79.1
Company: tzuk
Productname: Sandboxie
Description: Sandboxie Control

Filetype : executable
An executable file is a program that can be executed in your windows environment.

Verified signature MD5 hash : 4CAF7F8113DA4A15159520B3582AE98F
A MD5 hash is a unique fingerprint of the file control.exe
Different files/versions can have the same filename in windows. The MD5 hash verifies that the legitimate file is not altered or "fake". If you want to be sure that you have a legitimate file, download RunScanner and verify your files

Signature not verified The signature of this file is not verified by windows
This means that the publisher tzuk of this software did not sign the file control.exe with a certificate from a trusted windows source.
Many publishers (even Microsoft) do not sign all their files, so this does not indicate that the file is suspect.

This file was found in the following entries:
Running Processes

Sandboxie Control

Good to see they have SB in their online database.

Nothing bad intended.
