I am running Win 7 HP SP1 x64 with MS Office 2013 Home & Student. I purchased lifetime licenses today so I could run MS Office sandboxed on this machine, and also on my new Win 10 AU x64 laptop with a freshly downloaded copy of Office 365 (2016).
On both computers the applications hung on the start up screen and wouldn't load. I came to the forum and noted some workarounds, but I wasn't sure how to instigate them (altering templates and "ini" files & the like).
Then I saw someone mention that the latest beta version 5.13.8 addresses the hanging problem in MS Office 2013 & 2016, so I downloaded it and installed it over the top of the previous Sandboxie installation on my Win 7 Machine with Office 2013. I got a warning during the Sandboxie installation that I had to "close officeclicktorun.exe in order for the installation to be successful". I had no office apps open, but when I allowed "show processes from all users" in the taskmanager, I found the process, but it took four attempts to end the process. Eventually it worked and Sandboxie installed OK. I rebooted a few times and then tried opening Word, Excel, PP, and Outlook and they all open just fine! Outlook is very slow to start compared with running it non-sandboxed, but it does get there. I should mention that I have "Outlook Today" as my default opening page in Outlook (I saw someone on the form said the had to change that with their machine).
Oh, I did have quite a bit of bother with getting Onedrive to work after updating to 5.13.8. I suspect killing the officeclicktorun.exe process might have been the culprit. I forgot I had that running - it was idle but still signed in. When I opened it (non-sandboxed) it had dissociated the account I was previously signed in with, and reverted all my settings to the defaults. It took quite a few goes to get it to sign in, but it did eventually and seems to be doing it's thing OK now.
At this stage I'll keep 5.12 on my Win 10 rig, and wait for 5.13 to go mainstream. I tend to use Office the most on this Win 7 rig, so it's good it's working on that. Thanks! Hopefully there won't be any Windows/MS updates to mess things up again too soon!

Re: Feedback about MS Office 2013
Thanks for the feedback.
You don't have to go hunting around for processes to kill manually. The running processes dialog is there to inform you that the installer needs to terminate these processes before the install can continue. Note that the dialog box does say, "Click Ok to close these programs and continue."

Oh, silly me, I read the pop-up but clearly missed that bit:"Click Ok to close these programs and continue." I shall remember that when I update my Win 10 machine.
In further good news my Win 7 machine received seven out-of-band Windows Updates today. Sandboxie 5.13.8 continues to work with MS Office 2013 after installing all seven and rebooting the computer.
