Hi,
is there a possibilty to take away from a general windows xp user with no Admin Rights the possibilty to do anything with the tray icon?
I know the settings EditAdminOnly=yes but thats not what I`m looking for.
I want that the user can`t do anything with the trayicon. Through my researches I dont think its already built-in, if there is let me know, thanks
greetings Kay
Trayicon improvements
The EditAdminOnly is about preventing non-administrators from configuring some parts of Sandboxie. There is no feature in Sandboxie at this time that can prevent particular users from using its functionality.
Having said that, you could create a local or domain user group, let's say it's called SbieDeniedUsers. Then view properties for the folder C:\Program Files\Sandboxie and go to the Security tab. Click Add and enter SbieDeniedUsers. Then for this group, mark the Deny column for the Full Control access. Repeat for the .EXE files and .DLL within that folder. Finally, associate some users with SbieDeniedUsers.

thanks for youre advice tzuk
I tried the way with a domain user group with the restrictions. If u Deny, Full Controll access for the .exe files and .dll files, then afterwards the User(in the SbieDeniedUsers Group) cant even see the .exe and the .dll files. Thats a little but too much Deny
But I also tried diffrent ways with the permission, but not found yet the right settings.

But overall, Its important, if u want to use sandboxie in a buisness network, that a normal user cant do anything with the configuration.
The Icon is no problem at all. The user has no access to the folder, but its important, that he cant change anything to the configuration.
I said earlier, in direct response to your question, thatKay wrote:But overall, Its important, if u want to use sandboxie in a buisness network, that a normal user cant do anything with the configuration.
So I'm going to assume that you missed it and point it out to you again.tzuk wrote:The EditAdminOnly is about preventing non-administrators from configuring some parts of Sandboxie.
