Hello sandboxp,

I got the same message, 1/66 AVs is flagging our installer as malware. That is a False Positive.
I'll reach out to Baidu and see if they can fix it. [Update ---> no luck, as much as I tried reporting it, it keeps telling me the captcha I am entering is incorrect, not sure I will be able to reach out to them... ]

Here's the link with my results:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/35901 ... /detection

To ensure you are using a clean file, make sure to download Sandboxie from the links posted on the first page:

Thanks again :D

Now Virustotal warned that the installer file contains a Trojan : Win32.Trojan.WisdomEyes. 16070401.9500.9882

Anybody with same experience?
Yeah. 5.23.1 - 5.23.3 the jiangmin or baidu scanner alert of wisdomeyes or dinwod dropper. 5.22 all clear. earlier versions alert of dinwod dropper if i recall correctly. i'm sure it's a false positive and I pray to god that craig is building and signing the sandboxie installer on a secure isolated computer so some trojan can't easily be added.

My PC info:

Windows 8.1 64bit
Sandboxie 5.23.5
Chrome 64.0.3282.140

I installed this beta because Chrome was showing the "Aw Snap!" error while running IN sandboxie. Now I have a new problem after installing the beta. If I run Chrome OUT of sandboxie, I now get "Windows DLL Initialization Failed" every couple of minutes. This didn't happen until I installed the sandboxie beta.

Hello blazen,
If I run Chrome OUT of sandboxie, I now get "Windows DLL Initialization Failed
Please do a full uninstall of Sandboxie . If the issue persists, then we can rule Sbie out.

Is there any security software involved? Is Chrome fully updated (outside Sandboxie) ? (Not sure if you can get to that stage).
Have you tried re-installing Chrome?
If the problem persists without Sandboxie, you may to google "chrome 0xc0000142" for suggested solutions.

Can we hurry up and get 5.23 released? Looks like it's required to run Sandboxie on a fully patched Windows box due to Spectre/Meltdown, so right now there's a choice to either use beta software or not patch Windows.

Regarding false positive from Baidu, Sandboxie is not the only product reporting a false positive against WisdomEyes:

https://winscp.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24068

I'm getting virus total Baidu hits on the latest 64 bit installer as well (5.23.5).

Chrome does not work with version 5.22 and I can't install the new version 5.23.6. It won't install the drivers. Windows blocks it and says it's not digitally signed.

Hello flowjah,

I added a note regarding Secure Boot. If you are using it, please download build 5.23.5 instead.

Hello,

I'm using the latest 5.23.6 x64 and have following problem with Microsoft Excel 2016:

When opening a .xlsx file with double click, Excel is opening without the opened file and shows me following error message (german):
"Bei der Weitergabe des Befehls an das Programm ist ein Fehler aufgetreten"
Translated to english: "The transfer of the command to the program occured in an error"

My office programs (Word, Excel and Powerpoint 2016) are set to default on the system and get automatically opened in Sandboxie.

There is no problem with Word and Powerpoint, files get opened perfectly fine when double clicking them.
The issue is only with Excel.

I have installed all Office 2016 updates until february 2018.

Hello Inbox,

This is not a beta issue, but a DDE known issue. One of our gurus provided a workaround long ago, see below:
viewtopic.php?p=120417#p120417

More info:
viewtopic.php?f=11&t=24845#p130028

Try launching Excel in the Sandbox, and then go to File--> Open in order to bring up a file.

Barb.-

I had problems with browsers not displaying text anymore. The advise here in the forum was to install version 5.23.6 (x64 on Windows 10).
So I did but now I have a bigger problem: Sandboxie won't start anymore. I get the following errors:

Code: Select all

SBIE9234 Service startup error level 9153 status=C0000428 error=-1073740760
SBIE9234 Service startup error level 9153 status=C0000428 error=-1073740760
SBIE9234 Service startup error level 9153 status=C0000428 error=-1073740760
SBIE2331 Service start failed: [22 / 5] Access is denied.
Rebooting and reinstalling didn't solve the problem. How can I solve this?
