Hello guys,
I need to add lots of folders to Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > File Access,
Instead of adding one by one manually, I created a folder named "C:\sandbox_access" and create junction of any folder I want to have file access into it.
For example:
C:\sandbox_access\cache is junction of D:\blalba\cache
Then, I added the C:\sandbox_access to Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > File Access, so I just need to add more junctions in C:\sandbox_access and gets the job done, no need to add items manually, I thought.(It's pretty handy create jucntions by using Link Shell Extension, just drag and drop)
BUT it's not work as expected, Sandbox create the same folder structure instead using the junction whichi is granted file access permission.
How to make sandboxie File Access work with juctions?
Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > File Access & symbolic links

Hello coldwinds,
Can you please provide the required info so that I can test the scenario?

Also, please provide an exact example of what isn't working (repro steps will be appreciated).

Hello,
The Windows version number? (i.e. Windows 7 32bit, 8.1 x64, etc)
Win10 64bit
Sandboxie version number (SBIE v5.10? 5.06?)
5.20 64bit
NAME & Version/build numbers of any applications involved? (Chrome v43, FF45 etc)
All
Are you running antivirus/anti-malware software? (AVG, Live Essentials..etc)
No
================================
Here is the case to reproduce the problem:
1, Create directory C:\sandbox_access
2, Create directory D:\blalba\cache
3, Create junction C:\sandbox_access\cache point to D:\blalba\cache
4, Create a sandboxie named Test.
5, Add C:\sandbox_access to Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > File Access (direct and full access)
6, Run Windows Explorer in Test, navigate to C:\sandbox_access\cache, then try to create a empty text file in it, prompt no permission.
Expected result:
Since C:\sandbox_access was added to File Access list, C:\sandbox_access\cache shuold have access too
Actual result:
Have no access to C:\sandbox_access\cache

Re: Sandbox Settings > Resource Access > File Access & symbolic links
Hello coldwinds,
I followed your steps using the latest beta [viewtopic.php?p=129389#p129389] + Win 10 x64.
I had no issues copy-pasting files to the location, and I was able access said files outside Sandboxie (as expected) via both the original and the junction folder.
What permission errors are you seeing? Are you using an admin account?
Do the folders work fine outside Sandboxie?
Can you please try creating a new sandbox with default settings (don't copy them from other sandboxes) and see if that makes a difference?
